Q: Hi Sir, I m Edwin, I am working on a construction site. 3 months before, an accident happened on my construction site and regarding this accident issue, my passport was held by Dubai police. But the injured person is good, and the doctor certificate also clearly mentions that the person is good, but till now the police did not release my passport from the police station. Next month is my marriage, so is it possible to replace the passport with another one or not? Please give your suggestion about this.  

Q: Dear Madam, How can I get my passport from my employer? My employer has filed a case against me for misappropriation of company money in Sharjah Police Station. When I went to my employer to claim for my passport to deposit in the police, he refused to give my passport and I deposited my wife's passport and faced the inquiry officer and they released me. How can I get my passport from the employer and deposit the same with the police station so that my wife can get back her passport? My labour card and insurance card are already cancelled by my employer since last 2 months before filing the case against me. My legal status is still valid, as my immigration has not been cancelled yet and my family is under my sponsorship. Please advise. Regards

The law promulgates UAE Criminal Procedural Law (Penal Procedures Law) which governs criminal procedures in the UAE. This law applies to the procedures relating to offences whose punishments are not specified, dogma and punitive offences, and blood money, if they do not violate the Sharia rules.
