Non-payment of an EMI will definitely end you up facing a criminal case [cheque bounce].

The complexity of the matter depends upon the emirate which the bank actually files a cheque bounce case against you and also upon the cheque amount as well.

I understand the non-payment of salary creates much derangement in your financial affairs. The only way out is directly approaching the bank and trying to find out a settlement.
