Expected time and action for a bounced cheque criminal case

Dear Madam,

I have received information from the bank that I have a cheque bounce case for AED 219,000/- on Feb 27.

So far, I have not received any message or email or call from the police station. I want to change my Emirates ID phone number also. What do I have to do?

Shall I approach any police station in Dubai? Please clarify my doubt.

Thanks and regards

Dear Questioner,

Greetings.

Thanks for keeping in touch with me.

Once you get a message regarding the bouncing of a cheque from the bank, it doesn't mean that there is a case registered.

That cheque will be collected back by the bank and the bank will initiate a criminal case against you.

The complaint before the police station will be numbered once they get the full set of documents regarding your account details to the police station and this process may take one to two months to complete.

Once this is complete, then only you will get call or information from the police. So you can renew your ID or phone number now.

Please feel free to contact me at 0556635526 or WhatsApp me at 0508575526 if you need further assistance or explanation.

Regards,

Anitha Rajeev
