Expected action from the bank for defaulting on a loan

Dear Madam,

Please advise me, I have a credit card and I used up to AED 50000 for the last three years. I was paying monthly the minimum instalment.

But now for the last 5 months, my salary is delayed so I did not pay the instalments.

Please advise what action can the bank take and what do I do to solve that action.

Thanks

Dear Questioner,

Thanks for contacting me online.

If you default on the payment of EMIs for 3 consecutive months, the bank may present your security cheque and can initiate criminal and civil cases against you.

So before having any case against you, better approach the bank and request rescheduling or restructuring the loan, explaining the difficulties on your part and informing how regular you were before.

The bank may make a smaller EMI for you with a long duration.

Please feel free to contact me at 0556635526 or WhatsApp me at 0508575526 if you need any further assistance or explanation.

Regards,

Anitha Rajeev
