Criminal complaint for bank debts and its procedures

Good afternoon.

If a bank files a police case regarding non-payment of account, will the police immediately issue an arrest warrant for the offender?

They said the police will call if the bank already filed a case. If the offender goes to the police station, can she not be detained based on a bail?

If the offender doesn't have the funds to pay, what will happen?

Dear Questioner,

Once the complaint is filed, you may or may not receive a call from the police regarding that. It depends upon different factors like the police station, emirate and also the police officials.

It is not mandatory that you will receive a phone call from the relevant police station in which the complaint has been filed.

I am not sure in which emirate the complaint has been filed. If it is in Dubai, any amount less than AED 200k is punishable only with fines less than AED10k.

Of course, the offender can submit his or her passport and request for more time to pay off the cheque amount or fines.

Please note that each emirate has got different procedures.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.

If it is still possible to ask another question, will a warrant of arrest be immediately issued?

Not warrant. Once a criminal complaint is filed, there are chances that you may get apprehended anytime.
