Q: I have got a labour case judgement favourable to me. I have filed execution and published in the newspaper. The employers are one Emirati and one Jordanian. They are not responding to the execution procedure. The local employer has personal properties, bank account...etc. Is it possible to file attachment for their personal properties? What has to be done to issue an arrest warrant and a travel ban?

Q: Hello. I filed a labour case last year against my old employer; I'm still on their visa which expires next month. The amount I was claiming for was AED 190,000 which is 3 months salary along with another 3 months that I am entitled to for delay, plus flight ticket... etc. I won the judgment for AED 100,000 plus 9% interest on this amount (unclear from the date of filing the case - or the date of the judgment given). In any case, the amount is over AED 160,000 min today. I have also filed for execution and we have now also requested a travel ban - arresting them - freezing all bank assets... etc. I'm still waiting to get paid. We have informed the old employer and they stall by saying they will speak to their lawyer or they will contact me. Nothing of the sort will be done as they are just delaying and I don't know what they are playing at. When will I get the funds and how much longer will this take?

Q: Dear Sir, The case is finished and the judgment came 2 months ago. My employer deposited the money 50 days ago and my visa is canceled now. But I am not receiving the cheque from the court. I am illegal now as it's already been more than 3 months since my visa has expired. Do I have to pay a fine for staying on an expired visa? And when should I receive the cheque? Q: I am an employee of a mainland company in Dubai. I won a partial labor case of AED 145,000 then the company submitted an appeal and got rejected by the court. I got the final judgment and filed labor execution. The court sent a notice of 15 days which has passed and my company filed a petition to review the labor for my main case, and in the last hearing, the court asked me to reply which I will submit. My question is: how many times can the company appeal like this? And what are the chances this petition court will reject as well and follow the last 2 judgments issued by the court?

Q: Dear Sir, I filed a labor complaint against my employer for not paying my salary on time. The court judgment came on 28 November 2022, and then in December 2022 I applied for execution. On 3 January 2023, my company paid my money to the court and until today (11.02.2023), almost 45 days had gone and I still did not get my money from the court. I don't know if my company paid to court then why does the Dubai court take 45 days to give me my money? I do not understand now. I don't have money for food also and on 30 January 2023, my company manager removed me from company accommodation. My question is, if I do not get my money, then how do they remove me from the accommodation? Where can I live for the last 8 months with no salary and now they remove me from the accommodation? This is not good for laborers, the government needs to understand if a laborer doesn't get his salary on time and he files a case and they take 8 months to solve the case, how does the laborer survive during this time for 8 months and now no accommodation?

The provisions of this Law, known as "UAE Labour Law", govern the relationship between employers and employees and other labour matters in the United Arab Emirates. There are special labour related regulations applicable in some of the free zones in the UAE.

The law promulgates UAE Civil Procedures Code (Civil Procedure Law) which governs civil procedures in the United Arab Emirates, including the prosecution before the courts, litigation and execution.

The provisions of this Decree-Law, known as "New UAE Labor Law", govern labour relations in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates. The New Labor Law repeals the previous UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. (8) of 1980).
