Q: Hi, Greetings, Ma'am, I am working for a free zone company as a sales executive. Due to my medical condition, I informed my company and had to come on an emergency to my country. After leaving the country, I met the doctor and he said it will take more than 4 months to recover after physiotherapy sessions. In the meantime, I called up my company and informed them about my medical condition and told them to cancel the visa, as I don't want to work anymore and instead I want to start a business in the UAE after my recovery. The main concern now is the company does not want to cancel my visa and also harassing me. They will put on me some kind of legal case. Please advise, how can I move forward. I want to cancel my visa and start my own business in the UAE. Thanks and regards

The risk of returning back to the UAE after leaving on emergency

Q: Hello, I left the UAE 3 months back due to health emergency of my wife and I informed my employer also. My employer wants me to send the passport by courier so that he can cancel the visa and send the passport back to me. However, I have requested if I can come back now, get the visa cancelled, collect my luggage and close all bank accounts. Is coming back an issue? (my visa is still valid till Aug 2019). What are the points I need to check for a smooth airport entry?

Dear Legal Community, I am seeking advice regarding a residential tenancy contract renewal in Ras Al Khaimah. Situation: Property: Residential unit in Ras Al Khaimah. Current Annual Rent: AED 27,000. Contract Expiry: December 21st, 2025. Landlord's Proposal: Increase to AED 38,000 (approx. 41% increase). Notification Date: October 1st, 2025 (81 days before expiry). My Questions: Notice Period Validity: Is a notice of 81 days for a rent increase legally valid in Ras Al Khaimah, given the common requirement of 90 days' prior notice? Rent Increase Legality: Is a 41% rent increase permissible under RAK rental laws and the RAK Municipality Rental Index, or are there caps/guidelines? Tenant's Rights: What are my rights in this situation? Can I insist on renewing at the current rent (AED 27,000) due to the invalid notice? What are the next steps after the court’s final decision, and how can I pay in installments?

Hello, I received the final decision from the court regarding the cheque execution filed. What is the next step? How can I pay on an installment basis? How can I request the excess amount regarding the 6% of the loan amount filed, since the final verdict amount was reduced? I also made a deposit to the court of 10,000 AED. How can I request it back? Will my father’s unpaid debts affect my re-entry to Dubai on a tourist visa?

Hello, My father had some debts due in Dubai, and at that time, he was unable to pay them and still hasn’t. We left the country in 2017, but my mom and I were under his sponsorship, and we didn’t cancel our residency visas. Now I need to go back to Dubai on a work trip.
