Q: Hi,
I am living in the UAE. I am an Indian national. I have a credit card. I do not have any loan and I also do not have any EMI to pay but I have 25000 AED due to pay for my credit card.
Now I got a job in Saudi Arabia and I am unable to pay all money at once. I never miss any monthly mini. payment.
When my company transfers my final salary and end-of-service benefits to my bank, will the bank freeze my bank account and file a case that I have pending 25000 AED, and will the police stop me at the airport?
Also, can I leave the UAE without paying the due amount, and without informing the bank?
Will it create any issue at the airport while leaving to India on the final exit?

Or what if you go to court or the bank and tell them you lost all the money in [stock market]?
What will be the process or which is the best way to come out of this?
My current salary is 6000 and after deducting home rent and transportation which are 4000, I hope it will increase by 2000 in Sep. so my salary will be around 8000 in Sept 2025.
I have 3 kids in my home country and right now I am feeling depressed.
Will the UAE hire a third-party agent or what will they do if I leave the country?

Can my employer block me from joining a competitor without a non-compete clause? 0
Hello,
I don't have a non-compete clause in my contract, and I am moving to a competitor. I have given 2 months’ notice, and my current employer asked me to take 3 weeks’ garden leave until the end of my notice period.
However, today I received a letter from my current employer stating that I cannot work for a competitor for a period of 1 year, and they are also telling me not to contact any suppliers, clients, or colleagues.
Is this correct and reasonable? I can't be idle for a year. What can I do?

Can an employee leave without notice during probation if the salary is delayed? 0
Hello,
I understand that if salary is pending for more than two months, an employee can leave the company without serving the notice period. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If an employee resigns in such a scenario (due to two months of pending salary) during probation and joins another company, can the previous employer claim reimbursement of recruitment and visa expenses from the new employer?

I have a fine in a criminal case judgment that I cannot pay at once. How to apply for an installment plan? 0
Hi to all the respected lawyers here.
I have a criminal case, and I fought for a long time to remove the 1st and 2nd judgments, which were deportation and jail time. In my final judgement, my penalty is AED 10,000.
Last year, during amnesty, since I couldn't pay the 10,000 AED (I am a single mother with a 2-year-old baby), I decided to surrender at the police station. Because I have a court fine, they refused to take me and sent me to the Sharjah police.
When I went there, I told the officer in charge that I couldn't pay and that I wanted to serve jail time and be released once I completed the required days. The officer did not accept me and sent me to apply for an instalment plan.
However, my instalment application was rejected; they said instalment payments are not being accepted at the moment and that the order came from the Abu Dhabi court.
Now I am really hopeless and feel I cannot live here anymore.

How can I remove or reduce my overstay fines to remove my arrest warrant and cancel my visa? 0
I am seeking your urgent legal assistance regarding my current situation in the UAE.
I am a former Branch Manager whose residence visa expired on 23 May 2025, and I have exceeded the grace period of three months.
Unfortunately, I was unable to cancel my visa due to an arrest warrant arising from non-payment issues linked to the company I was previously employed with.
On 16 August 2025, I was arrested and attended the Prosecutor’s hearing on 17 August 2025. I was released with an ankle tracker under the condition that partial payment must be made by 16 September 2025.
At present, I am no longer employed by the Company. My labour card has been cancelled.
I have not received my final settlement or end-of-service benefits.
I am a single mother sponsoring a child, and urgently need to regularize my visa status to be able to work again.
I want your guidance and representation on the following:
How to resolve or remove the arrest warrant/tracker condition/my name from this case?

How to waive or reduce the penalty for my expired company license and cancel it? 0
Dear Lawyer
I hope this message finds you well.
I set up a business license in a free zone in 2023. Unfortunately, the license expired in September 2024, and due to being occupied with other matters, I was not aware of the penalties associated with the expiration.
I recently attempted to cancel the license but was informed that a significant penalty has accrued. When I inquired about cancelling my visa first, I was told that it’s not possible to proceed without addressing the license issue.
Could you please advise if there is any legal way to waive or reduce this penalty?
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this situation with minimal cost.

What notice to follow while resigning if there is contradiction, the company contract or MOHRE contract? 0
I'm trying to resign from my company and found out there's incorrect information between my employment contract, my government contract, and the employee handbook.
I was under the impression of having a week's notice period but I'm being told it's 3 months and I'm losing a month's worth of salary.
On top of that, it's showing a non-compete clause for the same industry. I'm trying to change companies in the same industry, how much of an issue is that?

I was misled during the purchase of my off-plan apartment in Dubai. Can I claim compensation? 0
I believe I was misled during the purchase of my off-plan apartment in Dubai.
The sales manager strongly emphasized that the unit had a lagoon view and Burj Khalifa from the side, which was a key factor in my decision.
This lagoon view was even shown on their internal sales system, but it was never written into the official Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA).
After the handover, I discovered the apartment has no such view. I have supporting evidence, including WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and brochures that clearly mention the lagoon view.
This misrepresentation caused me financial loss, since when I tried to resell, the value was much lower without the promised view.
My questions are: based on these facts, do I have a strong legal case for misrepresentation?
Can I realistically claim compensation or a partial refund?
What steps and documents are required to evaluate the case properly?
Also, would like to know an estimate of the cost and expected time for such proceedings.
