Dubai, UAE

I I left the UAE with some debts and I paid later while in the UK. How to check my status before visiting Dubai?

I had some debts when I left the UAE, which I paid later while in the UK. This was in 2017 when I left the UAE.

I want to check if there's a travel ban or any blacklist kind of status for me, as I want to travel to Dubai soon.

I have lost the Emirates ID card, and I have a new passport number as I had to renew the passport.

All I have is a scanned copy of my old passport and the visa page.

What's the procedure and cost for finding this?

Hello,

Since you settled your debts after leaving the UAE in 2017, it is important to verify whether any travel ban or blacklist status remains on your record before planning your trip to Dubai.

You can check your travel ban status through the official channels, such as the Dubai Police app, the ICA website, or by contacting the immigration authority.

Given that you have lost your Emirates ID and have a new passport number, the check can be done using your old passport copy and visa details.

Usually, there is no direct fee for checking your travel ban status through government portals.

If you want, I can assist you in verifying your travel ban status or guide you through the official procedure to ensure a smooth return to the UAE.

Hello dear,

We can conduct a security check to determine if there are any cases against you.

We only need a copy of your new and old passports.

First, you need to verify with the bank the status of the debt, whether it has been settled or closed, and then the travel ban shall be lifted.

Second, as for the lost documents, you can conduct an online check with the authorities, such as the immigration, citizenship, and identity, or the police; all these services shall be with fees.

Kindly share your contact for further help.

I understand your concern.

In the UAE, if debts or legal cases were pending at the time you left, they may have resulted in a travel ban or restrictions recorded under your Emirates ID and passport details.

Since you have already cleared your dues, it is wise to verify whether your record has been updated before planning your travel.

The procedure to check is as follows:

Police & Court Records Check – A verification needs to be done with the relevant police authority (Dubai Police or the Emirate where the case may have been filed) and the court system to confirm if there is any active case, judgment, or travel ban.

Immigration / GDRFA Inquiry – Since travel bans are implemented at the immigration level, a request has to be lodged with GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs) to confirm if there is any current restriction.

Documents Required – Old passport copy with visa page, and ideally the Emirates ID number. Since you do not have the ID, we can still trace through your passport details. If you now have a renewed passport, both old and new copies will be needed.

Costs & Timeline:

A professional inquiry and clearance check normally involves legal service fees in addition to the government enquiry costs.

My office can conduct the necessary checks with Dubai Police, courts, and immigration, and provide you with an official confirmation.

The fee for carrying out these checks and providing a clearance status report starts from AED 2,500, depending on the number of authorities we need to approach. The process usually takes 5–7 working days.

If you would like, I can assist you directly in conducting this clearance check and ensure you travel to Dubai without uncertainty.

Please feel free to reach out to me on WhatsApp or by phone so I can guide you step-by-step and get this resolved for you.

Dear Client,

Greetings from Al Nassar Advocates!

Thank you for reaching out.

We can assist you in checking whether there is any travel ban or blacklist status in the UAE under your name.

Even if your Emirates ID is lost and you now have a new passport number, the check can be carried out using your old passport copy and visa page.

The procedure involves:

- Conducting a status check with the authorities using your available documents.

- Confirming whether any travel ban, blacklist, or pending case exists.

- Advising you on the next steps if any issue is found.

The cost for conducting the status check is AED 4,500 + VAT. Once completed, we will provide you with a clear update and guidance on your eligibility to travel.

Please share the scanned copy of your old passport and visa page so we can initiate the process.

Best regards,
