Ministerial Resolution No. (713) of 2016 Concerning the Employment and Training of Students
Preamble
The Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, having perused
Federal Law No. (1) of 1972 Concerning the Competencies of Ministries and Powers of Ministers, as amended;
Federal Law No. (8) of 1980 Concerning the Regulation of Labor Relations, as amended;
Cabinet Resolution No. (25) of 2010 Concerning Internal Work Permits applicable at the Ministry;
Ministerial Resolution No. (1188) of 2010 Concerning the Controls and Conditions of Granting Internal Work Permits;
Ministerial Resolution No. (1189) of 2010 Concerning the Controls and Conditions of Granting Work Permits of Juveniles;
At the presentation of the Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Affairs;
Has Resolved:
Article (1)
The Labor Affairs Sector of the Ministry shall take all necessary executive procedures to enable students to work and get trained at operating establishments or the establishments established and approved for training purposes according to this Resolution and other regulations applied by the Ministry.
Article (2)
In all cases of granting work or training permits of students, priority shall be given to national students.
Article (3)
The written consent of the person having custody or guardianship over the student shall be obtained before employment or training, as follows:
- A juvenile student in the application of the Law on Regulation of Employment Relationships and the resolutions in execution thereto when granting work permit (as to those aging 15 and below 18).
- A juvenile student on training (as to those aging 12 and below 18).
Article (4)
In all cases of employment of students, they shall be treated as ordinary workers who work in similar conditions, in terms of all entitlements and benefits.
Article (5)
For employment or training of a student, all controls and procedures and the quality of work permitted shall be complied with in accordance with the regulations applied by the Ministry.
Article (6)
The Undersecretary shall take all necessary procedures for enforcement of this Resolution.
Article (7)
This Resolution shall be circulated to all competent bodies, and go into effect from its date of issuance.
