Is my controlling husband's secret tracking of my car legal?
Q: Salam Alaykum, My husband is very controlling. For instance, he refuses to transfer a SIM card from his name to mine. He takes pictures of my friends` cars when someone visits me and even spies on my child`s tutor (a lady). There are many other situations I won’t mention now. Recently, I discovered that he secretly added a tracking device to my car. Alhamdulillah, I have nothing to hide, but I want to know if he is allowed to do that. Is it legal? Kind Regards,

Can I file a case against the landlord for serving me an eviction notice not through Dubai Courts?
Q: Hello Team, I`m contemplating submitting a formal complaint to the RDC against my former landlord, who evicted me on the grounds of personal use of the property. I have enough evidence to proceed with the case, but I`m uncertain about one aspect that might be questioned by the Dubai Courts. I received an email and a signed paper notice of eviction, but I did not receive an official eviction notice via the Dubai Courts system. Would this be considered valid if I file a complaint seeking compensation? Thank you in advance!

How to handle a rental dispute over a 20% rent increase upon non-renewal of EJARI?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, We have a rental dispute with our office landlord. Our EJARI expired on October 19, 2024, and we intended to vacate. However, the landlord insisted on a 2-month notice, even though we had not requested a renewal after the EJARI expired. We agreed to provide an additional 2-month notice, but he demanded a 20% increase as per the RERA index. We refused, as we did not wish to renew the EJARI. Instead, we offered to pay and vacate, but he filed an eviction case with RERA. We are seeking advice on this matter.

I have a cases and travel ban for loans and credit cards. Can I pay the fine and clear them?
Q: I had 10 loans in 2010 from various banks and credit cards and left the country due to job loss. 2 of those banks no longer exist today, and 3 of the banks have put a case and travel ban on me. Now I spoke to a lawyer and he said they can clear the 3 cases by paying a fine/fees. Will the bank still chase me for the remaining debt after this clearance process? I plan to return to the UAE to work on a new job. What about the remaining 5 banks that have not filed a case for personal loans/credit cards? And what about the 2 banks that closed (for example [----])? Thank you

Can the father control the visitation from and to the monther if he won the custody of children?
Q: A judgment has granted sole custody of the minor daughter to the father (Plaintiff) and ruled to prove the plaintiff’s custody of the little girl. This does not prevent the right of the defendant (Mother) to see her, visit her, and have her visit him, as will be stated in the operative part. And since the fees and expenses include attorney fees, the court obliges the defendant to pay them in accordance with the text of Article 133 of the Civil Procedures Law. 1. Does the plaintiff have the right to deny the mother taking the child to her place for an overnight stay and only approve supervised visitation? 2. What must be the frequency and duration of supervised visits and video call facility allowed if the child is 8 years old? 3. Does the plaintiff have the right to deny entry to the home without his consent and request the defendant to pick up and drop up the child in the building reception? 4. Can the plaintiff request the defendant to use the appclose application to schedule visitation and video calls?

Q: Hi, After we signed an MOU to purchase an apartment, the landlord added another requirement (not listed in the MOU) that we should allow the current tenants to stay in the apartment until September, when their lease agreement finishes in March. I have two questions: Can I back out of the MOU (the owner has not signed yet) based on this unforeseen condition? If the owner signs the MOU, can I send a letter to evacuate to the tenants as an intended landlord? Thanks

Q: Hello, I have been granted a divorce with joint custody of my twin boys (14 months old). I now wish to relocate to my home country, India, but my husband wants to stay in Dubai. He placed a travel ban on the kids before filing for divorce, and it is still in effect. Are there chances of obtaining permission from the Dubai court to relocate to India? How to prove your innocense if your act is linked to a series of acts that constitute a crime?
Q: Article 89 of Federal Decree No. 31 of 2021 promulgating the Crimes and Penalties Law stipulates that “If several crimes are committed for one purpose and are inseparably linked to each other, they must all be considered one crime and the penalty prescribed for the most severe of those crimes must be imposed.” Since the four accused were committed for one criminal purpose, and the link between the first, second, and third charges was inseparable, as they were organized by one criminal plan with the accused committing several acts that together formed a single criminal unit intended by the legislator, the court, therefore, considers it one crime and punishes it with the penalty for the most severe crime. That is in accordance with the provisions of Article 89 of the Crimes and Penalties Law, as will follow in the operative part of the ruling. I signed an employment contract with a company and the visa was rejected. Can I seek other opportunities?
Q: Good day, Pardon my lengthy question. I had an interview on 21 December and accepted the offer letter on 26 December. The company claims to have proceeded to process my work permit with me signing the MOHRE contract on 5 January. I have incurred costs in extending my visit visa since it expired on the 14th of January while attending work. I asked for an update on the visa situation, but they keep saying it has been rejected without giving a solid reason for rejection so we can rectify it. A search on the MOHRE website shows the contract is there but without my signature and it`s listed as "Transaction under process, unattested contract" yet I signed it. My question is, without transparency from the employer, can I seek other opportunities? I`m currently legally on a visit visa to avoid incurring losses. Thank you2025/01/21

What can I do if my rental case judgment came with way higher amount than the original amount?
Q: I have a case related to rent where I had to pay 5,555 and 9,600 for the month (01/02/2023) that we stayed till the evacuation date (01/03/2023) plus the court fees. The total amount is 17,350. Then he filed an execution order on (09/03/2023) and I received a document with the details, so I had 2 weeks to pay it off but I didn’t so they issued a letter to arrest the defendant on (30/03/2023) then on (09/11/2023) they issued a travel ban, I’m planning to pay it off now in installments. However, when I went to check for the amount now it says I have to pay 34,000. They included the 5,555 plus the court fees and they calculated the amount of the rent from 14/12/2022 to 01/03/2023 which equals 24,618. However, that doesn’t make sense because I only have to pay 15,155, excluding court fees, as stated in the letter I received on 09/03/2023. So what do I do? Do I have to appeal?+2

Q: My criminal case (cheque case) verdict is: "The court ruled in his presence convicting the accused and punishing him with a fine of (five thousand dirhams - 5,000 dirhams) for the charge.
