What does the new law for Emirati employees say about the pension contributions?
Q: The monthly contribution of the insured is 26 percent of the pensionable salary. The insured employee pays 11 percent and the employer pays 15 percent. For insured citizens working in the private sector, the government pays 2.5 percent on behalf of the employer, if they receive pensionable salaries less than AED 20,000. This initiative by the government is aimed at promoting the employment of UAE citizens in the private sector. Is this under the new law for new Emirati employees? 11% salary deduction, 12.5% for employers, and 2.5 % government pay. Please enlighten me.

I paid for complimentary gifts I was offered with an Umrah package but denied later. What can I do?
Q: I seek your legal advice regarding a dispute with a company over deceptive practices and breaches of commitments. I was invited to collect complimentary gifts (movie voucher, hotel stay, dhow cruise, smartwatch) after attending a 30-minute session. During the session, Mr. [---] offered an Umrah package, including visas, 4-star stays with breakfast, and transfers for my family, plus 3-star stays for five relatives. Under pressure, I paid AED 9,000. However, the written agreement differed from the oral promises. When questioned, Mr. [----] assured me of an email reflecting the verbal commitments, but it matched the written terms. Upon follow-up, Mr. [----] denied the commitments, and the manager dismissed the issue. I reluctantly proceeded with the services but was later informed only a 6-night facility could be availed annually. I feel misled and overcharged for services not delivered as promised. I invested money in a business but my partner is removing me out from partnership. Can I pursue legal action?
Q: Hi I`m an Irish citizen and a resident of the United Kingdom. I got investment fraud in Dubai. I invested money into a business with a Pakistani national guy in March 2024 via bank transfer into his business account. Now he`s giving back the money which I invested in business after 9 months. He`s preparing a letter from a local lawyer to kick me out of the business. I do not have any other option than to take out at least my money. But it`s unfair to me that he used my money in business and took all the advantage. Some people say to me that if you claim money or take legal action against him, it will take too much time and I need to travel to Dubai to appear in court because it is a civil matter. But I`m not a resident. How can I follow the civil case there? That`s why my partner knows that I can not do anything and this case keeps running long time and in the end nothing happens. But I`m thinking that I will submit a complaint through my embassy and I also have a solicitor in the United Kingdom.

We had a bad lawyer in Iraq who stole property by forging documents. This man said he had many connections to help us. While it was true that he had connections, he didn’t actually help us. Can a collection agency file a case against a debtor in home country on behlaf of a UAE bank?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I`m seeking your valuable advice as per the UAE Law for the below inquiry. One of my close friends had taken a personal loan of AED 250k in the UAE and was paying EMI amounts regularly. Later, he was terminated by his company due to some issues and returned to his home country. A debt collection agency contacts him every day and gives more threats even though he has agreed to pay back the amounts after getting a new job. It has been 1 year and until now he did not get any good job and is unable to pay back the amount. However, the debt collection agency contacts him every day at least 3 times and threatens him with a criminal case against him, and that they will send him to jail and many more things. Now the inquiry is generally, if anyone is unable to pay back the outstanding EMI loan amount due to job loss, can the debt collection agency file a case against him or an arrest warrant, etc in their home country? Can we make a case against the debt collection agency for their outrageous behavior?
