Is it legal for my rent to increase by over 20%?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My landlord has just sent me an evaluation certificate indicating that the rent for the property we are staying in is AED 220,000 and wants to increase it from AED 150,000 to AED 220,000. Is this legal? Many thanks!

Is the landlord's claim true that the court must sign the deposit cheque so he can return it to me?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I recently moved from my old premises to a new one because the landlord wanted the tenants out after an inheritance case as he wants to increase the rent in the building. That case made the renewal of the contract impossible for months but once settled, I paid the amount in one go so I could move out. In order to avoid any issue, I moved out but the landlord is taking time to give me back my deposit telling me that some agent from the justice needs to sign the deposit cheque in order for him to give it to us. Therefore I wanted to inquire if that is true as I`m struggling now financially and that cheque would help me big time. I paid for moving out and moving in, in one go, which caused me a lot of expenses at once and that deposit cheque is more than needed. I gave them time, as they told me it needs 15 days, now it`s been 22 days and they`re still telling me the court agent did not come to sign the cheque. The new landlord is requesting changes and a new deposit. What to do?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My landlord renewed the contract with me just a couple of weeks before expiry and collected a single cheque out of the 2 agreed upon. However, after 1 month, he sold the property without my knowledge. Now the new landlord is asking me to sign a contract with him as the previous one is not valid since he is the new landlord. Q: Dear Sir/Madam, We are at the final stages of the process, with our MoU expiring while waiting for the NOC. All cheques have been issued and shared. In the MoU, we have a couple of additional conditions regarding the seller`s obligation to obtain the NOC and a penalty of 10% for defaulting on either side. Can I request the court to change a cheque case payment plan from monthly to quarterly?
Q: The court has ordered me to pay a certain amount of money (3000 AED) on a monthly basis via the Amanat system (200 AED charges per transaction) until I fully paid the required total amount on my case (cheque settlement for 100K AED). My question is, can I possibly request the court to change the mode of payment on a quarterly basis, and then I will make the payment? The triple equivalent amount of AED 9000 instead?
