My previous landlord served me a notice to vacate. Can the new landlord vacate me without a notice?
Q: My previous landlord served me a notice to vacate, stating he intended to sell the apartment, which he later sold to a private company. From what I understand, this notice should transfer to the new owner, who would only be allowed to either sell the unit or move in themselves and cannot ask me to vacate to re-lease for higher rent. We are closer to the 12-month notice expiry and the new owner (a private company) is now demanding a significantly higher rent—above RERA’s allowed increase—or insisting I vacate so they can lease it again at market rates. The demand is more than 50% of my current rent. Is this demand from the new owner valid? I called up RERA who couldn’t help and advised me to approach a lawyer. I am not sure if my rationale holds or if the new landlord is correct. I’ll appreciate advice from this community.

My company will not renew my contract. Can they file absconding if I left before the contract expiry?
Q: This is my case right now. I finished my 2-year contract with a company. They decided not to renew me anymore. My work is as a waiter. My renewal date is supposedly December 6, 2024. I had my last day with them last November 2, 2024. I should be doing a handing over for 1 month but I did not fulfill this, since I already started in my new company. Questions: 1. Can they sue me for absconding? 2. Will I still pay the company for the remaining days that I did not do the handing over or they will just not pay my salary for the handing over month and will not give me my gratuity?2024/11/05

How to act if an arrest warrant has been issued against me in a crypto case?
Q: I had a misdemeanor case against another accused whom I don`t know. The first video call court hearing was on 23 Oct, and the first accused came with his lawyer but I couldn`t afford a lawyer. During the hearing, it was very difficult for me to make the judge understand I was not guilty as I don`t speak Arabic and the translator also couldn`t help that much, since the case is related to crypto buy & sell. Seems they don`t understand it properly. So after the first hearing, I checked what the case status was showing. It was decided to postpone the session to 11/06/2024 to submit a defense memorandum for the first accused (the other accused) with the arrest and bringing of the accused. Now they issued arrest warrants against both of us. I am so scared now, please someone guide me on what I can do now. Is there any chance to hire a lawyer now? What is going to happen at the next hearing? Will the police arrest me and take me to the court on the next hearing which is on 6 November?2024/11/04
