Not only did it fail to cool effectively, but I also discovered mold growth, particularly in the closets and within the AC ducts. Subsequently, I realized that a neighboring resident faced identical problems, leading me to suspect that the building developers may have compromised on quality and cut costs during construction, likely opting for subpar materials. This situation has escalated into a significant health concern, as the release of mold particles into the air is adversely affecting my well-being, accompanied by a noxious odor. Despite employing the services of two different AC unit duct cleaners, the problem persists, highlighting the severity of the building`s construction flaws and the urgency for a comprehensive resolution. What can I do in this case, and can I take legal action?

We rejected the resignation of an employee and worked for three months. Can we accept it now?

Q: Dears, Good day. I would like to ask about this scenario. This 1 staff sent a resignation due to delayed salary but the management agreed to reject his resignation and talk to him that the company still needs him. This staff accepted the proposal then later on after 3 months, this staff did not go to work. It`s like he will come twice a week and then he will not come again. Now he sent an email to give him a termination letter. The management decided to accept his resignation ssubmitted 3 months ago but this employee wants a termination letter. What is right? Is it okay if the management accepts his resignation?

Landlord's non-acceptance of rent for 8 months. Can I face eviction?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Rental Dispute - The management agency in my current apartment building has issued a verbal notice via a telephone call to all residents (in January 2024), asking to vacate the premises by 25 February 2024 citing that they`re planning a major renovation to the entire building. My contract had expired in June 2023. Despite multiple follow-ups (over email, I had told them I wanted to renew starting March 2023), they never responded to emails and delayed the renewal. I had come to know that there was an ongoing inheritance battle between the owner`s family which may have been the cause of delay. Please advise on the below: 1. As I have not paid any rent since June 2023 as they never accepted the cheques, can they issue an eviction notice based on non-payment of rent? 2. Would I have any legal recourse to fight this notice? 3. What is the overall timeline/expense for such rental dispute cases to be resolved? 4. Are there any other legal actions that they can take against me?

Unpaid for graphic design work. Can I report and recover my dues?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I worked as a graphic designer for a crypto project, and the company is registered in Dubai. Last July and August, I sent my work at the end of each month as usual. The person responsible for the company owns an Emirati residency permit but currently lives in Austria. When I made the deal, he instructed me to wait for the payment and provided various excuses to avoid paying me the total amount of $4400. Since then, every month, I have been sending messages to the team requesting my payment, but I only receive excuses. Last month, I sent him a message, and he disrespected me as a woman. He informed me that the project is dead, and he won`t pay. However, the company is still active and registered in Dubai. I have all the proofs, including chats and screenshots. I feel scammed, and this situation is negatively impacting my mental health as it is unfair. My question is, can I report him to ensure he pays me? Is there anything I can do? No official contract was signed from their side; I only have WhatsApp and Telegram conversations.

No A/C for a month, and maintenance hasn't fixed it. What to do?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have had no A/C for over a month, and there is a constant leak in my kitchen ceiling that has stripped away plaster and paint. Maintenance has come multiple times, but nothing has been sorted out. I have taken several hours off of work for this. There are pending labor complaints. Can I travel to my home country?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I resigned from my company during my probation period. However, they rejected my resignation, asked for compensation for visa fees, and did not release my salary. That’s why I filed a complaint to MOHRE. However, they also filed a complaint against me claiming 6000 AED. My complaint to MOHRE is still under process and I am still waiting for an update from them. I need to return home to my country; however, what`s confusing me is whether I am allowed to leave and go back without any issues at the immigration. The complaint is still under processing and it has not been referred or transferred to court yet.

Is an NOC required when joining a new employer, as per the offer letter?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have signed an offer letter which contains the following: "The employee is not allowed to work with the company`s client or direct competitor on the end of the employment without prior permission of the company". But my labour contract with MOHRE doesn`t contain any such provision. Labour contract only contains the following provision: The Second Party shall be committed not to work in the same competing business of the First Party in UAE for the period of Two Years if the employee has terminated the employment contract or if their employment contract had expired without prejudice to the First Party’s legal or contractual obligations. So if I want to join a client after cancelling my existing job & labour contract, is the provision for getting the "prior permission to join the client" mentioned in the offer letter still valid? Does the offer letter have any validity after my resignation & cancellation of the existing labour contract? Do I have to obtain an NOC?
