Can I refuse to leave the apartment after the eviction notice if the landlord shows no intention to sell?
Q: I am reposting the question as maybe I was not clear the first time. I am a tenant in an apartment in Dubai. I stayed in the apartment for a long time. I received a valid 12-month notice from the landlord to vacate the property because they want to sell it. However, 9 months have passed since and the landlord has shown no intention of selling. I asked them about it and they said they intend to renovate it first before selling it. As I do not want to move out, can I dispute this at the RDC in any way? Meaning, do I have any basis for dispute?

How can I clear my loan and access funds if my account is frozen upon resignation?
Q: Hi, I am currently working in the UAE and have a remaining loan with my bank. I am now out of the country and plan to resign. My final gratuity is higher than my remaining loan. Since the bank will automatically freeze my account after receiving my final settlement, my question is: How can I clear my remaining loan and retrieve the remaining money while I am already out of the UAE? Q: One of my partners (a foreign national) is planning to relocate to another country without exiting the partnership or legally removing his name from the Memorandum of Association. Can a POA signed by one owner of a jointly owned property authorize a valid eviction notice?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I received a rental apartment eviction notice from Dubai courts, which was sent and signed by a power of attorney. However, the property has two owners. Do both owners need to authorize the POA, and is there a way to check if the POA is actually authorized to send the notice? Is it possible that the POA has authorization from only one owner and was still able to send the notice?

Should I pay 3 months' salary if I leave my job without notice to care for my newborn?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I am leaving my job without a notice period because I have had a baby, and I am unable to leave him by himself at home. My contract states: Except as provided in clause 11.1, either you or the Company may terminate your employment at any time by giving three (3) months` prior written notice, or payment in lieu of notice, to the other party. (Any period of leave, including school holidays, cannot be counted towards the notice period.) Does this mean I need to pay my employer three months` salary, or is it not clearly stated enough, so I don`t have to pay it back?+1

Do I have to pay my company after resignation for a training that never happened?
Q: Hi Sir, I would like to ask a question. In my contract, there is an additional addendum stating that I have to pay up to 5000 AED for the training in case I terminate my contract within 1 year. Now the question is, I`m already 6 months in service. Do I have to pay that even though the company did not provide any training for me? I`m confused because it is stated you will have to pay because of the training but the company did not provide the training. Will I pay or not?

My ex-wife lives in Kuwait and file a case there for child support. Can she enforce it against me in the UAE?
Q: I am a Canadian citizen. My ex-wife is also a Canadian citizen and she lives in Kuwait. The court in Kuwait issued a verdict regarding child support. I currently reside in the UAE. I would like to know whether she can transfer the case to the UAE jurisdiction or if the current ruling in Kuwait would apply only to Kuwait. Thank you for your assistance.

Suing a salon for damages after a pedicure resulted in severe injury and distress
Q: Hello, I am wondering how I can sue or report a ladies` salon in Abu Dhabi for physical and emotional distress after a pedicure led to urgent care for a severe infection. I was prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, painkillers, and given an injection in my buttocks. I am now on crutches and unable to walk. A week after the pedicure, I underwent surgery to have my nail and skin surgically removed as a result. I spoke with the salon the day after my appointment when my foot swelled up and I went to the hospital. The technician refused to let me speak to the owner and begged me not to report her. I am extremely distressed and fed up, and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I have all my medical records, proof of payment to the salon, and WhatsApp messages between myself and the salon discussing my toe. What legal grounds do I have to sue the salon for damages? Agreed on rent with previous management; can new management demand increase?
Q: Dear lawyers, I am a tenant in Dubai. My current contract will expire on 24-01-25. The real estate agent gave me the renewal paper on October 15 with a 5% increase in rent, as per the RERA index, which I accepted. However, after a few days, the building management changed, and the new real estate team sent me a new contract on November 12 with more than a 10% rent increase (less than 90 days before the contract expires). When I inquired with them, they told me that they are the new management, and I have to follow their instructions or vacate the flat. Otherwise, they will send an evacuation notice. What can I do?
