What to do if you get terminated and denied gratuity for a minor mistake?
Q: My brother has been working for a company for 11 years. In the last 3 weeks, he had an incident/accident and scratched a plane since he only had 1 person to assist him as the company was not hiring enough people. Senior staff like him are working more to train inexperienced new hires which adds to their workload working almost 12 hours/day including travel to DWC. The pilot said it was aesthetic and could be painted over but a police investigation ensued. Last week 3 managers and HR talked him down as the investigation concluded. He was terminated immediately with only this month`s pay and his 11-year gratuity will not be given by the company. It was not gross negligence or malicious intent, he just didn’t have enough people to help him. He owned up to the mistake and reported the incident within 24 hours. Can he fight for the gratuity?

Q: Hi, I have leased out a shop in Dubai, but due to huge financial losses and my husband`s job loss, I can`t afford to pay the rent. Meanwhile, my landlord has filed a case for eviction and payment of rent. Right now, my condition is getting better as my husband has got a job and is ready to pay the rent in installments. Can I pay in installments and hold the shop even if the judgment goes against me?

Q: I hired two law firms to help resolve my rental dispute case, but both betrayed my trust. The first firm was to settle my balance at Sharjah Municipality. In November 2023, they asked for 50% of AED 70,942 to initiate an installment plan. Trusting them, I transferred the amount, believing it would go to the municipality. By June 2024, I discovered a travel ban was imposed on me. When I confronted the firm, they admitted the money never reached the municipality, claiming someone in their company took it. In October 2024, I hired another firm, they asked me to pay 8,000 AED upfront as lawyer’s fees. After that, they became unresponsive, ignoring my messages and providing no updates. Now, I’m unsure how to recover the AED 37,244.50 from the first firm and AED 8,000 from the second. I’ve lost trust in the legal system and don’t know how to proceed. I tried to find an Emirati lawyer, thinking it would be better, but my case always goes to a legal consultant. What should I do?

Can I close my LLC company and pay off all my debts and liabilities if the the license is expired?
Q: Good Morning, I want to close my company (an LLC located in Sharjah) and leave. I have personal and company liabilities which I plan to settle before I leave. My company license ended in December 2024. Can I pay off personal debts and company liabilities without renewing the company license (including renewal of tenancy contract) in the next 2 to 3 months? I want to avoid license renewal fees and tenancy contract associated costs since I am anyways planning to leave. Is that possible? If so, how much time do I have? Thanks for your advice.

Q: Hi, I want to inquire about a police case. In October 2024, I was involved in a minor accident while reversing my car out of a parking space, during which I accidentally ran over a person`s foot. Q: I was evicted from my apartment after living there for five years. My landlord informed me a year in advance that the lease would not be renewed because he intended to sell the property. Prior to this, he attempted to impose a rent increase that was not compliant with RERA regulations, which I refused to accept. He then served me with an official Dubai Court eviction notice, citing the need to take back the property for sale. Five months after I moved out, I discovered the property was rented out at a much higher price. Upon further investigation, I found that the ownership was transferred as a "Gift" rather than a sale. This makes it seem like the eviction was only to raise the rent rather than a genuine need to sell. Do I have a valid case for wrongful eviction against my landlord?
