Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My husband divorced me on WhatsApp, but he didn`t want to come to the Dubai court to request a divorce. He left me when I was traveling. I remember that some time ago, when he was fighting with me, he told me, "If you divorce me, I will ask for the mahr." Maybe this is why he doesn`t want to divorce me in court. Can a school give parents the personal mobile numbers of teachers?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a teacher at a school in Dubai. Can my employer, the school, provide my personal mobile number to parents? I am employed by the school, and the school has my phone number. But the school is forcing teachers to provide our personal numbers to ALL parents. The parents are provided with teachers` school email addresses and educational platforms to message the teachers with any questions, but because the parents are lazy to email or learn how to use the platforms for messaging, the school is forcing us to provide our mobile numbers to parents. Is it legally allowed for the school to force teachers to provide their personal phone numbers to ALL parents, who do not respect the teachers` privacy and message/call at non-working hours? And then the school expects teachers to respond during non-working hours and weekends. MOST teachers do not want to provide their personal phone numbers. Personal loan platform harasses me with rude calls and threats
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I was delayed in my payment to a personal loan platform and asked them if I could pay on the next salary date. They ignored my message and now call me nonstop, even at work. They use different numbers to harass me, sending rude WhatsApp messages calling me a scammer and threatening to call my employer and family to get me deported. They also pretend to be from the Credit Bureau to squeeze money out of me, even though I don`t have any. They also called my sister and friend to embarrass me. Tenant argues previous notice void, demands new 12-month notice. Is it legal?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Urgent Legal Assistance Needed for Dubai Eviction Case I recently purchased an apartment in Dubai (Oct 3, 2023) and served an eviction notice (Oct 9, 2023) referring to a prior notice by the previous owner (Feb 9, 2023). The notice was in both English and Arabic. The previous owner`s Arabic-only notice (Feb 9, 2023) stated intent to sell which the tenant didn`t accept to receive as it was not in English and Arabic. However, the tenant agreed (Apr 25, 2023) to vacate by Jan 31, 2024, over email. The tenancy agreement without Ejari, signed on Apr 25, 2023, spans Jun 1, 2023, to Jan 31, 2024, for 8 Months. A clause binds the tenant to vacate on Jan 31, 2024, referencing the previous eviction notice (Feb 9, 2023). I seek guidance on eviction rights, as the property is for personal use, and no other properties are registered in my name. Can we file through court? Does judge's order to renew tenancy contract overrule eviction notice?
Q: Hello, Yesterday, I won a case against my landlord. The judge ordered a renewal of my tenancy contract for one (1) year, and the landlord must pay the expenses (3% of my annual rental). However, the judge is aware that I received an eviction notice from my landlord. As a result, I can only get an 8-month tenancy contract, not a one-year contract. Does the judge`s verdict of a 1-year contract renewal supersede the eviction notice, which only allows for 8 months? هل يحق للمدير طلب فترة إشعار مدتها 3 أشهر بعد موافقته الشفهية على إلغاء التأشيرة؟
س: سيدي/سيدتي العزيزة، أعيش في دبي. كنت أعمل سابقًا في شركة كهرباء خاصة. أرسلتُ استقالتي عبر البريد الإلكتروني إلى شركتي في 8 أغسطس 2023. بعد محادثة هاتفية مع مديري، وافق على إلغاء تأشيرتي بعد الانتهاء من الموقع الحالي. مع ذلك، تلقيتُ بريدًا إلكترونيًا في 6 أكتوبر 2023، يُفيد بضرورة إكمال فترة إشعار مدتها 3 أشهر. وافق مديري على إلغاء تأشيرتي شفهيًا فقط، وليس لديّ أي دليل كتابي. حاولتُ الاتصال به عدة مرات، لكنه لم يُجب. ينص عقدي على أن فترة الإشعار هي 3 أشهر. ماذا أفعل الآن؟

س: سيدي/سيدتي العزيزة، هل يمكنني مقاضاة والد زوجتي بتهمة التدخل والشقاق في زواجي؟ يحتجز والد زوجتي ابني البالغ من العمر عامين ونصف منذ 30 مايو/أيار 2023. لم أره أو أتلقى أي أخبار منه أو من زوجتي منذ ذلك الحين. إنهما في أبوظبي، وأنا في دبي. تلاعب والد زوجي بزوجتي ليرفع دعوى طلاق ضدي. رُفضت القضية الأولى، لكنها رفعت قضية ثانية. أعلم أن والد زوجي يتحكم بكل شيء. سؤالي الرئيسي هو: هل يمكنني رفع دعوى ضد والد زوجي شخصيًا بتهمة التدخل والشقاق في زواجي لسنوات في محكمة دبي؟
