Uncomfortable with workload. Any liabilities upon resigning?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am currently on a company visa, which began last October 2023. However, with the recent management change, I am uncomfortable with my workload. I am handling the responsibilities of three positions but receiving a low salary. Moreover, 80% of my colleagues, including management, are Russian speakers, while I am not. Many of my colleagues have minimal workloads but higher salaries. I feel exploited, discriminated against, and undervalued. If I decide to resign, are there any liabilities I need to settle with the company? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Denying labor dues upon resignation and demanding visa charges

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My employer signed an offer letter from a different company, adding a clause stating that if the employee resigns, he needs to give one month`s notice and refund AED 5000 as visa charges. However, I have already signed a contract from another company and received my EID, with no such clause mentioned. Now that I resign by giving one month`s notice, my employer has not paid any salary or benefits even after completing one year and three months. Additionally, they are demanding AED 5000. Please advise!

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have an ongoing labor case against my previous company where I used to work, as I was not receiving the salary for several consecutive months (more than 2). I have obtained a new job that requires me to cancel the visa from my previous employer as they intend to provide a new permanent visa; they do not wish to continue with the temporary work permit. However, I have a significant amount pending from my current employer, and I have heard that upon signing the cancellation letter, I will not be able to make any claims. Please advise me!

Q: I was detained by the Dubai Police for a false case against me by a company before 7 years and later the case was withdrawn by the company as they realized it was a false case. Will it reflect in my criminal record? I have applied for a clear criminal certificate for a new job. If I get that in my record I will not be getting the job. How to solve this?

How to protect my interests after my landlord sells the property?

Q: Hi, My landlord has just sold the property. I`d like to know what needs to be done from my side to be on the safe side in the future. 1) Do they require my signature to sell the property? 2) Should I ask for the return of the upcoming cheques from the old landlord and issue new ones for the new landlord? No A/C for a month, and maintenance hasn't fixed it. What to do?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have had no A/C for over a month, and there is a constant leak in my kitchen ceiling that has stripped away plaster and paint. Maintenance has come multiple times, but nothing has been sorted out. I have taken several hours off of work for this. The A/C was cut off because the landlord has not registered or paid with Empower directly. Is there anything I can do?

There are pending labor complaints. Can I travel to my home country?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I resigned from my company during my probation period. However, they rejected my resignation, asked for compensation for visa fees, and did not release my salary. That’s why I filed a complaint to MOHRE. However, they also filed a complaint against me claiming 6000 AED. My complaint to MOHRE is still under process and I am still waiting for an update from them. I need to return home to my country; however, what`s confusing me is whether I am allowed to leave and go back without any issues at the immigration. The complaint is still under processing and it has not been referred or transferred to court yet.

Can we nullify the MoU if the property isn't vacated by a specific date?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am interested in buying a property that is currently tenanted. The agent has insisted that the tenant will vacate the property in two months; however, the current owner has not served any notice to the tenant. Is there an agreement we can ask the tenant to sign before we agree to buy the property, such as an undertaking in front of a magistrate? Can we include this in the MoU so that if the property is not vacated by a certain date, the MoU stands nullified?
