Q: Hi, I`m a Filipino. I got married in Dubai way back in 2005. We didn`t get a chance to register our marriage in the Philippines. Unfortunately, my wife died this year and we have some properties that I need to handle. Is it possible to register our marriage even though my wife is now deceased?

What if landlord didn't inform of rent increase and offer and deposit case rejected?
Q: Hi, My tenancy contract expired last week, and I filed an offer and deposit case with DLD because the landlord had not informed me of the rent increase 90 days earlier, and the RERA calculator also stated no rent increase was due. The offer and deposit case has been rejected due to no response from the landlord. What are the next steps? Do I need to file anything further? Thanks!

Can I claim compensation from my husband for emotional and physical abuse?
Q: Good day everyone. We got married under Sharia Law in Dubai Courts and it is now 3 years with no kids. I have been suffering and enduring physical and verbal abuse throughout the marriage. But I just continued to stay in the hopes that my husband would change. I never thought of divorce because I was blinded by love and the concept of keeping our marriage sacred and with respect. Now, my husband has filed for divorce and his reason is our marriage will not work because of what he did last year (adultery). I felt so blank because I am jobless at the moment and can`t work as I am suffering emotionally and mentally. He will just leave me like this. My last resort is to be compensated for the damages I got, emotionally and physically. For proof, I have WhatsApp messages, a police report of the physical abuse (case closed), and a paper that shows a booking with his name and a woman when he traveled to a different country (to which I found out about the adultery). Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My landlord evicted me on the basis that he was selling the property. I have recently discovered that he did not sell and re-rented the property three months after I moved out, with a rental increase of AED 75,000 per year above what I was paying. It was very disruptive, and I was forced to move to a smaller property, incurring unnecessary costs as a result. This occurred approximately one year ago; however, I believe I have all the required evidence and supporting documentation. My question: Am I able to raise a case against my former landlord and seek compensation? If yes, what costs do I incur? If I am successful, how is the compensation calculated? My husband was arrested in a drug case and accused of promoting it. How to get him out?
Q: It`s been 2 weeks since my husband was caught with 7 friends in a villa by CID and was detained at Bur Dubai police station till present. They tested positive (first-time offender) but because one of his friends who was caught carrying drugs included his name for selling it, the case file stated: "in possession of drugs with the intention of promoting it". I am humbly seeking legal advice on how to release him while the case is still under investigation. My 2-year-old baby boy misses his papa so much.

How and when do I get paid after getting a labor judgement in my favor?
Q: Dear respectable Legal experts, I have a question: I filed a case against my employer for my salary, gratuity, and annual leave and it took 6 months until the case judgment came in my favor. During these months, I could not get a job due to the legal case as other employers were reluctant to offer me a job. Please advise as per the UAE Labor Law.
