I have a case and travel ban in public prosecution after I ran over a person's foot. How long does it take?
Q: Hi, I want to inquire about a police case. In October 2024, I was involved in a minor accident while reversing my car out of a parking space, during which I accidentally ran over a person`s foot. The individual later withdrew the case at the police station, and the case report was subsequently forwarded to the Dubai Public Prosecution. It has been over two weeks since I last visited the Public Prosecution (I have visited three times), yet the case number has not been issued. Could you kindly advise on how long it typically takes for the court to issue a verdict in such cases so that my travel ban can be lifted? Your guidance and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I was evicted from my apartment to be sold but it was gifted and rented at a higher price. What can I do?
Q: I was evicted from my apartment after living there for five years. My landlord informed me a year in advance that the lease would not be renewed because he intended to sell the property. Prior to this, he attempted to impose a rent increase that was not compliant with RERA regulations, which I refused to accept. He then served me with an official Dubai Court eviction notice, citing the need to take back the property for sale. Five months after I moved out, I discovered the property was rented out at a much higher price. Upon further investigation, I found that the ownership was transferred as a "Gift" rather than a sale. This makes it seem like the eviction was only to raise the rent rather than a genuine need to sell. Do I have a valid case for wrongful eviction against my landlord? Also, under Dubai law, does transferring ownership as a "Gift" hold the same legal grounds as selling in justifying eviction?+7

Q: Hello, My case is under execution. Two months ago, I blocked my employer’s traffic file with the RTA, but he still hasn’t paid me. Using the traffic file number, I found nine vehicles registered in his name on the Dubai Police website. I requested the court to auction these cars, and the court approved, but Emirates Auctions stated that the cars have not yet been seized, valued, or notified. The court then stated: "Postponing the sale procedures until the seizure and announcement of the vehicles are executed." I requested the cars to be seized, and the court authorized it: "Authorization is granted to seize the vehicles as per the request and police report." What should I do now? Also, does “seizure” mean the cars can’t be driven?+3

Will I be arrested in my country if I paid the first installment for a bank loan settlement in the UAE then stopped?
Q: Hello Legal Advice, I had a loan amount of AED 240K and after paying some installments, the amount came down to AED 170K. I got laid off from my job in the UAE due to company acquisitions, and now I am jobless in India. After discussions with my bank, they sent a settlement letter for AED 150K and I paid AED 25K as a downpayment by selling gold and borrowing money from my friends. Now I cannot pay the remaining amount because of being jobless and I am the sole breadwinner. My query is will there be any legal problem if I don`t pay the remaining amount after signing the settlement letter? Will case execution be implemented in India also? What can I do if the tenant refuses to leave the property at the end of the eviction notice?
Q: We served our tenant 1-year eviction notice. All done correctly and I don’t think he will leave when he should leave in a week. He tried to raise a petition to the DLD to say we own other properties that make the eviction illegal which the DLD rejected as we don’t own other property. Q: Dear Lawyers, My former tenant filed a 200k compensation case against me because I did not move into the house and rented it to another tenant. There was only one hearing, and in the next, I received the judgment to pay 100k in compensation. The breakdown states 40k as the rent difference for each year and 20k as moral damages. I am unable to understand how this amount was calculated, as the rent difference between my old rent and his new rent is 30k per year.
