Can I get court approval to relocate to India with my twins despite a travel ban by their father?
Q: Hello, I have been granted a divorce with joint custody of my twin boys (14 months old). I now wish to relocate to my home country, India, but my husband wants to stay in Dubai. He placed a travel ban on the kids before filing for divorce, and it is still in effect. Are there chances of obtaining permission from the Dubai court to relocate to India? I don’t have any family members in Dubai, making it difficult for me to care for the two kids.

What to do if the landlord sent me a rent increase notice to an unregistered mail?
Q: Dear Lawyers, I filed an offer & deposit but due to the nonresponse of the landlord, the case was rejected as confirmed by RDC. 1. Offer & deposit filed at the beginning of Jan 2025, supported by the Dec 2024 RERA Rental Index, which indicated no rent increase for my lease expiring in Jan 2025. However, the landlord mentioned that the updated RERA Calculator for this year reflects a 5% rent increase. 2. The landlord claims to have sent a rental notice over 90 days prior, but the email was sent to an unregistered address. As per the tenancy contract, the email address they used is not the official one. RDC advised me to wait for the landlord to file a case against me, as I am not in urgent need of Ejari. However, I am concerned about potential legal repercussions for non-payment of rent & would like guidance on the following: • Do I have a compelling case based on the details above? • How & where can I deposit the cheques to avoid the landlord suing me for non-payment? Can we file for divorce in Dubai Courts if we have marriage certificate from the consulate?
Q: A question related to divorce between a Pakistani and an Indian national. I`m a Pakistani national (Male, Christian) married to an Indian national (Hindu). The only legal document we have is from the Indian Consulate in Dubai which is a marriage certificate issued by them in 2022. We have not registered our marriage with local authorities in Dubai or the UAE. Through mutual decision, we`ve decided to part ways. Given the above information, we need assistance in navigating the above. The Indian embassy insists on going to Dubai courts, which to me doesn`t make sense since we haven`t registered our marriage with local authorities here. Any help and advice would be helpful!

How to claim a refund for a flood-damaged car with a fake invoice and voided warranty?
Q: Hello, I bought a second-hand 2023 car with a warranty valid until 2028 from the manufacturer. I purchased it 39 days ago from a dealership. The car was advertised as being in great condition and accident-free. This week, I took it to the manufacturer for servicing and was informed that the car had been written off as a total loss due to flooding. They provided me with proof and a police report. As a result, the warranty was void, and they refused to service the car or replace any parts. The primary reason we decided to buy this car was the warranty coverage. We contacted the dealer to request a return of the car and a refund, as they had hidden such crucial information, but they refused. Now, we are forced to take legal action. We have already filed a police report, but we need to know where to claim the money back—through the Ministry of Interior (MOI) or the Ministry of Economy (MOE)? Additionally, the invoice was provided two weeks after purchase and contained the wrong chassis number, belonging to another car of the same model, with the same issue—a total loss due to flooding from an auction. Does this error void the invoice?+1

Am I liable to pay the rent and fines after selling the shop if there is no contract with the landlord?
Q: The landlord has filed a case against me for not paying the shop rent. I notified the owner when I sold the shop in Feb 2022 and the POA was given to the new owner but he took my EID in the contract for renewal. He said it was just for one month and after that, the new owner would cancel the contract because he didn’t have EID for renewal. I requested NOC several times from the landlord but they didn’t give it to me. My contract in which he took my signature expired on 16 March 23 and all the cheques were paid, and the payment was done by a third party too till Sept 24. From March 23 till Sept 24, I didn’t make any agreement with the landlord. Also, the trade license expired in Dec 2023 and was not renewed. I have no idea how the landlord collected cheques till Sept 2024 without a contract, and he doesn’t have any copy of the contract with him. Now he filed a case against me with old documents instead of the new owner`s name in the case. It is sold to 3 people after me. My question here is, am I liable to pay the rent and fines?+5
