If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Q: Hi. One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task." He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know." After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station. They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go. After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems? If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? Please advise!

Can I return to the UAE after an outpass and unpaid fine?
Q: Hello, I had an absconding case, which was later removed. While canceling the visa with my previous employer, who had placed the absconding case, the immigration department informed me that I had a fine of 12,000 AED, and the visa would be canceled once I paid the fine. I didn’t have the money, so they said I could either take an outpass and be banned from the country or pay the fine. I chose the outpass. Now I want to return to the UAE. Is there any way I can come back, and do I still need to pay the fine?

How can I stop a company from bombarding our company with bad social media reviews?
Q: My company has a dispute with a maintenance company. Their actions and poor service caused us financial losses and damaged our reputation. We owe them a small amount of AED 1300 only. We also have proof of all the losses that we incurred. This maintenance company now bombarding my Google account with defamation reviews. Is it the responsibility of the owner or building management to fix leaking damages in new apartment?
Q: I own an apartment in Dubai which I rent out. The apartment below has reported water damage, and now the building management company is holding me responsible, asking me to fix both the leak and the damage to the unit below. I disagree with this for two main reasons: 1. The management company did not act quickly to stop the leak, and both my tenant and I were out of the country at the time. Had they intervened sooner, the damage could have been minimized. 2. I believe the leak may be due to construction defects or poor materials used by the developer. The building is less than three years old, and I bought the apartment directly from the developer. I don`t see how any of this is my or my tenant`s fault. I need legal advice on how to challenge this claim and understand my rights. Please let me know if you can help.

Q: Hello, I`ve been working for this company for a little over a year now, and my employer hasn`t provided me with medical insurance yet. Since I have chronic asthma, I used to take leaves to rest my body and get better. I wasn`t able to get sick leaves except for two occasions (in which I`ve paid for one and one has been reimbursed). Last week I noticed that 1000 was deducted from my salary. I went to talk to my employer and told him that it was unfair because due to not having medical insurance, this was the outcome of the situation. He told me that I have till March to find another job and made it seem as if he was doing me a favor. I know I have the right to have insurance and he is breaking the law. What could be done in this case? Though I`ve wanted to avoid this route, the unfairness is too much. Thank you.

I was terminated. What happens if I leave before the end of notice period?
Q: Greetings! I just want to ask for clarification. My company renewed my visa three months ago, but now I am being terminated because I am an existing staff member. This is because our department will no longer remain beyond the end of December 2024 due to a management change. The company informed me of my termination only four days ago, but I have a three-month notice period. Is it correct that if I leave before completing the three-month notice, I will have to pay a penalty?
