بند الجزاء التعويضي عن تمديد عقد الإيجار
س: سيدي العزيز / سيدتي العزيزة، أنا أقيم في الشارقة. بقينا في نفس الشقة خلال السنتين المنصرمتين. انتهى عقدنا في 5 مايو. لكن نحن سنهاجر إلى بلد آخر، فطلبنا من المالك البقاء هنا حتى نهاية شهر يونيو. وافق المالك في ذلك الوقت. يطلب منا الآن دفع 3 أشهر إيجار من بعد شهر من يونيو كجزاء لتعديل الوضع. عقدنا انتهى بالفعل الآن. يرجى تقديم المشورة بشأن ما يجب فعله لأننا لسنا في وضع مالي يسمح بدفع إيجار 3 أشهر دون الإقامة.

س: مرحبًا، فقدت عملي منذ عام، ولدي مبالغ مستحقة ببطاقة الائتمان بقيمة 300 ألف درهم إماراتي. تخلفت عن سداد التسعة أشهر الماضية (أتفاوض مباشرة مع البنك). أستطيع سداد بطاقة الائتمان على دفعة واحدة عن طريق صديق لي سيقرضني هذا المبلغ. ما هو المقدار الذي يمكنني التفاوض عليه لخصمه من مبلغ الـ 300 ألف درهم إماراتي لتسوية الأمر؟ هل يجب علي أيضًا أن أطلب خطاب مخالصة / عدم مسؤولية؟2017/05/24

Q: Hello, I would like some help regarding stating the copyright. I am sending professional photographs that I took to another company for a shared project. I would like to specify to this company that I don`t want them to share my photos with other companies because they are my own work. How do I do that and make it both legally binding and not "rude", as I plan to continue working with this company? I am basically just wanting help with drafting a professional legal email. Arbitrary termination and rights of the employee
Q: 1) Since the company is a semi-government entity based in Abu Dhabi, can I challenge the unfair spot termination decision and get 3 months salary (per month salary was AED 7000) and other benefits? 2) Can I claim all my living costs (house rent, bills, car rental, food, telephone, travel/ fuel etc) after notice period finished date i.e. 26 April 2017 as per termination letter (21 days till 17 May 2017 and could end up more weeks)? 3) The termination letter was handed over on 29 March 2017 and last working day was same day but as per termination letter my last working day would be considered as 26 April (that is a difference of 3 days unpaid?) 4) As per my clear instructions to my team to report all necessary matters but in this case, everyone failed to report me and even many Rental Agents kept on renting this vehicle with a low tire pressure sign on the dashboard. 5) Shall I approach the labour court in Abu Dhabi or civil court considering my visa from immigration?

Employer's refusal to pay end of service benefits
Q: Good Morning! I`m writing to you in hopes of any help you can give me. I`m a single mom and sole provider of my family back home. Last Feb 15, 2017 I was terminated. Now, my former employer is blackmailing me for them not to pay me any of my end of service benefits. I have not received any end of service benefits and they are not being cooperative and they are threatening me with police prosecution. I am begging for any help you can extend. Consumer protection and the concept of "cooling period"
Q: Is there a law regarding a "cooling period" on an item purchased? We had a problem with a company distributing vacuum cleaners in Sharjah, we have returned the item to them as we felt like being pressured to buy without giving us time to think before buying, and their contract states that I have to pay 4,000 Dirhams as a cancellation if I return the item within 3 days. Is it legal? Where is the 3 day cooling period?

Bounced rental cheque dispute
Q: Dear Sir, We have paid an amount with Rent Dispute Committee (RDC) for a rent case, but supposedly there is the bounced cheque case still filed with police.
