Setting up an online drop shipping business
Q: Hello, I want to start a drop shipping business (expecting to make less than a thousand Jordanian Dinar a year). Basically, drop shipping is selling a product on an online store without owning the product or having to keep inventory. When I get a sale I go and buy it from Ali Express (which is a website full of suppliers from China) and I ship the product to a customer address (in United States) and earn the difference in money. So my question is: In Jordan do I have to pay taxes and do I need to register a company because I am making a profit, and is there a limit that I should be making before setting up a company? And what happens if I continue without setting up a company? Thank you for your time.

Conflict within a family
Q: I am UAE national living in Ras al Khaimah 29 years old female. I have graduated in 2005 and because of my mom health I could not work or study as I kept travelling with mom for her treatment. Last year mom passed away and I came back with my brother. He insults me and forces me to work as a servant at home. No phone, no job and even shoun that government gives me, he took all that month. He said no shoun had come last month. I know there is shoun, he bought a phone for me just to not araise complaint against him. I want to do a job, he refused. All that years I ignored about my life but when I want he refused. Now he took my passport, ID, health card. How can laws help me to get a job?

How to evict a tenant who committed default on payments
Q: Hi, my tenant is a company and has not paid the rent for past two months. I have filed a police complaint and eviction notice from the court. He keeps on saying he will pay every week but does not honour his deadlines. I do not wish to keep him as a tenant as this will always be a problem with him given his attitude and do not wish to waste my time. I want him to vacate even if he pays now. Please help.2017/07/12

كيف يمكنني رفع حظر العمل في الإمارات
س: كنت أعمل في شركة بوتيك 1، شركة ذات مسؤولية محدودة. تركت الشركة في شهر أكتوبر من العام 2015 بعد العمل معهم لمدة 11 شهرًا، لذا حصلت على حظر عمل لمدة سنة. ثم التحقت بشركة أخرى في المنطقة الحرة، وتمت إجراءات تأشيرتي بدون مواجهة أي مشاكل في أكتوبر 2015. إنني الآن مع هذه الشركة منذ سنة وتسعة أشهر، والآن لدي عرض عمل من شركة لاندمارك، كمدير للتسويق بالشركة، وهي شركة ذات مسؤولية محدودة. لذلك قمت بإلغاء تأشيرتي وقدمت على تأشيرة جديدة معهم، ولكن تم الرفض بسبب أنه لدي منع عمل لمدة سنة. وُضع الحظر من العمل من قبل جهة العمل القديمة بوتيك 1 ( كان يجب أن ينتهي المنع من العمل السنة الماضية)، ولكن نظرًا لأنني لم أغادر البلد وغيرت التأشيرة الخاصة بي من داخل الإمارات، فإن منع العمل لم يبدأ من الأساس. لقد قدمت طلبًا في "تسهيل"، ولكني لا أعتقد أن ذلك سيساعد في شيء. لدي كل ما يلزم لرفع هذا الحظر. عقد العمل براتب يزيد كثيرًا عن 12000 درهم إماراتي، شهادة موثقة بدرجة البكالوريوس، وإذا لزم الأمر، يمكنني الحصول على شهادة عدم ممانعة من بوتيك 1، حيث قد مرت سنتين تقريبًا منذ أن تركتهم. أريد المساعدة العاجلة.

Bank dues and arrest at the airport
Q: Dear Nikhat, I have a personal loan with a bank in Dubai. Last October 2016 I lost my job and the company sent me back to my country. Now I have a job offer and visa. Will I be arrested if I arrive in the UAE? Due to the job lost only I didn`t pay the amount. If possible I can speak to the bank and I can pay the amount monthly. Please advise me. Thanks / Regards

س: لا يزال أمامنا 7 أشهر من عقد الإيجار الخاص بنا، ولكن هناك العديد من المشكلات التي يتعرض لها العقار، وقد انخفض السقف في إحدى الغرف بسبب التسريب. هل هناك أي طريقة يمكننا من خلالها إنهاء العقد واستلام الإيجار عن الأشهر المتبقية ووديعة التأمين الخاصة بنا؟ شكرًا على نصيحتك.2017/07/08

Penalty payable in case of early termination of tenancy contract
Q: My tenancy contract specifies that "In the event of early termination, Tenant shall have to serve two-month written notice prior to the vacating date and to pay two months rent as a penalty to the landlord and the remaining balance to be refunded". Based on that, please advise if during the two months notice I can stay in the property and paying those two months rent (which are effectively already paid) are the penalty or if after the two months notice an additional two months rent should be paid as a penalty? Termination of employment under the UAE labour law
Q: Hi Sir, Please, can you help me understand the following below? I have been terminated from my company in Dubai. They had made me sign one letter on their Official Letterhead that they have terminated me and will be giving a grace period of one month. This was almost 1.5 months ago. After this now they have made me sign the Cancellation Letter for closing the Contract. They are telling me they will be paying my basic salary and not be paying HR, is that ok by Law? Also, they will be deducting the cost of the car and mobile SIM since the letter which they provided to me. Please, can you help me understand the Law of termination in Dubai, so that if in any part they wrong I could take legal action if required?2017/07/08

Can period of working without work permit be claimed by an employee in the court?
Q: Aslamulaikum, I have a query, I am on my husband`s sponsorship and was working in Dubai with one company. I joined in May 2016. Employer made me sign the employment contract in May itself but did not make the labour card. So I worked with only that contract until finally after chasing the employer made the labor card in October 2016. I worked that 4 months without the work permit. Now as they terminated my employment in March and did not give any right to me I have filed a case in the court against them. I want to know is it legal if I submit my May Contract in the court as my starting date of work. Will it cause trouble for me? Because I want to fight the injustice that happened to me. Please help. Is new landlord liable for the refund of a security deposit to the tenant?
Q: Please see the information given below and let me know who should pay this security deposit to the tenant and what will be the new landlord role here. 1. In August, 2016, I purchased a property in Gate Tower, Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, where the tenant stayed. 2. His contract was until Feb 2017, so instead of returning the balance amount of rental charge, I requested the previous owner to deduct that amount. 3. After signing the contract, I received the contract between the previous owner and tenant and realized that there was a deposit AED 4,750. 4. I did not know about this deposit and transferring deposit was not even mentioned in the contract. Furthermore, the deposit agreement was between previous owner and tenant. 5. Now, the tenant wants to receive the deposit. Please let me know whether I as a new landlord have to return this deposit or the tenant has to collect the deposit from the previous owner since they made an agreement of deposit.2017/07/08
