Q: Dear Lawyers, The rental company didn’t notify me within 90 days about the 15% increase. Now, they are stating that I must either pay the increase or move out of the property. The agreement is due to end on 01/10/2024. What options do I have under Dubai law to negotiate this situation?

Can I claim compensation from the employer if he terminates me with a shorter notice?
Q: I moved from another country for a job almost 6 months ago. Based on the offer letter and employment contract I received and signed, I agreed to a 3-month probation and a 3-month notice period before coming to Dubai. Upon arriving in Dubai, I was then given a MOL contract which I was told was standard 6 months probation. I was told at 3 months that I had passed my probation. I have just come to my 6-month mark (just before my exact 6-month date) and have been told I did not pass my probation and have been given 14 days` notice. Where do I stand? The employer is not negotiating and is stating it is standing by the MOL agreement and not the employment contract. The company has bounced between the 2 agreements in order to suit its own interests.

Q: Can I ask for advice? First, my employer didn`t pay my salary on time and it`s too much delayed. Second, I didn`t give a day off. The car rental company charged me extra amounts without proof. What can I do?
Q: I`m currently renting a car monthly. The monthly fee, full insurance, and deposit (1K AED) are paid. During the middle of the agreement, they charged me AED 925 without any previous notice. I checked for fines and the car looked clean, no fines. I contacted my bank and froze my credit card, but they asked me to contact the company first. As I already had transactions with them. The car rental made me wait 3 days to get the information, but they finally sent me proof of a fine with the plate number, date, and time, but without the location. The fine was AED 800, but they charged me AED 925. When asking about the price difference, they said that there are some salik charges too. Police say that they cannot do anything because the fine is already paid. My question is, can they really take from the credit card like that if I already paid a deposit for this kind of charge? How legal is it that they pay the fine without notifying me, and without giving me the chance to review the fine beforehand?2024/09/16

Canceling my MoU and getting my deposit back due to a low bank valuation and overpriced property
Q: Hi, I wanted to purchase a 2-bedroom apartment in JVC Dubai. I gave a 10% security deposit cheque to the seller. The price mentioned in the MoU is very high compared to other similar apartments in the same building. The bank’s valuation also came in very low. Since the valuation is much lower, how can I terminate the MoU and get my cheque back? The MoU ends on 1st October 2024. One of the articles in the MoU states: In the event that the Buyer fails to make the payments as agreed or fails to complete the transfer on the agreed date due to his own acts or omissions, the Seller has the right to terminate this agreement and retain the deposit, provided that the termination is due to a violation of the agreed terms, unless both parties agree amicably to different dates. I need help urgently.

My employment contract with the company is not signed by me. Is it still considered valid?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a tennis coach in Dubai. I have been with my company for 9 months and am seeking to resign. I have been approached for a position with another company. I am yet to receive an offer of employment. I would like to enquire if the issues I have with my company as stated below are legal: 1. My original employment contract between myself and the company is not signed by me. Is it deemed valid? 2.
