Am I allowed to travel to my home country during the probationary period?
Hello,
Is it okay if I travel to my home country during the probationary period?
I have 7 days pending (days off and public holidays). My manager agreed to give all 7 days together, and I am planning to go see my family.
Do I need to get approval for traveling?
Generally, employees are not entitled to annual leave during their probationary period according to the UAE Labour Law.
But Labour Law states that you might be able to take annual leave during probation, but it requires the approval of your employer, who has the right to not grant it.
Since your manager has already agreed to this leave, you likely do not need further approval for traveling, as the leave itself has been authorized.
If you need further clarification, you may ask.
Good morning,
Based on UAE Labor Law, there are no specific restrictions on traveling during the probationary period as long as the leave is approved by your employer.
Since your manager has agreed to grant you 7 days off, it’s important to ensure you have this approval documented in writing to avoid any future misunderstandings.
As long as your leave complies with company policies and you return as agreed, there shouldn’t be any legal issues with your planned trip, even if it coincides with public holidays.
I recommend confirming all details with your employer and keeping a record of the approval for your peace of mind.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
If you have a vacation and official holidays, and your supervisor agrees to grant them all together, this means that you have the right to travel during this period.
You do not need additional approval to travel, but the travel must be within the approved vacation.

Dear Sir,
If you have a valid visa, it’s fine. You can travel and obtain the necessary approval from the company, so you’ll be able to travel and return on time without any issues.
Should you require legal assistance, please feel free to contact us via phone or email.
