Hello,
How many days of annual leave are employees entitled to in the UAE?
Hello,
30 calendar days of annual leave for full-time employees after completing one year of service. If the employee does not take their leave, the employer is required to pay in lieu of unused leave if the employee resigns or the employment is terminated.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
In the UAE, employees are entitled to 30 days of paid annual leave after completing one year of continuous service.
For those who have worked between six months and one year, the entitlement is two days per month worked. This 30-day minimum applies to all employees, regardless of position.
Annual leave includes weekends and public holidays within the leave period. Employers can schedule leave times but must provide one month's notice.
Unused leave can be carried forward for up to two years with employer approval. Some companies may offer more generous leave policies.
These regulations ensure fair rest periods for workers while allowing some flexibility in implementation.
Thanks & Regards,

Hello,
Under Article 29 of Federal Decree-Law No. (33) of 2021 Regarding the Regulation of Labour Relations, employees in the UAE are entitled to 30 calendar days of annual leave after completing one year of continuous service.
For employees who have served less than one year but more than six months, the annual leave entitlement is calculated at two days for each month of service.
For employees who have served less than six months, there is no legal entitlement to annual leave unless agreed otherwise in the employment contract.
The law also allows employers and employees to agree on how and when the leave is taken, provided the employee’s right to use their leave is protected.
