How do I cancel my expired UAE residency visa from abroad, given my ex-employer's closure?
Hello,
I have a residency visa that expired a month ago. I am currently outside the UAE and need to go back in September. My ex-employer was under the Techno Park Freezone, but I couldn't find their Freezone authority website.
The company has been closed for two years. I need to cancel my residency so I can apply for a visitor visa. What should I do to fix my problem?
Thank you!
Dear Questioner,
Although your employer's company is closed, you can still initiate the visa cancellation process through the GDRFA.
They have offices in each emirate. While you couldn't find a website specific to your ex-employer's freezone authority, try searching for the general UAE Freezone Authority website.
And also try to find out from your employment contract as well.
If you need further clarification, you may contact us.
Dear Client,
You should contact the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai to cancel your expired residency visa.
Since your former employer and their free zone authority are no longer accessible, the GDRFA will guide you on the steps needed to resolve your situation and enable you to apply for a visitor visa.
We can assist you in sorting the issue.
Kindly contact us for further assistance.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation!
You will need to apply for a visa cancellation through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or the nearest UAE embassy.
Make sure to provide the necessary documents and seek legal assistance if needed.
Good luck with resolving this matter.
