10

Can the visa of the wife be extended after losing the husband sponsorship?

2
Q: Dear Lawyers,
I need clarity as to whether a divorcee visa is still applicable specifically in the Abu Dhabi emirate subsequent to the divorce for a woman who has been granted child custody during the divorce judgment.
I am aware that a one-year grace period was granted to divorced women in the past as part of the divorcee visa but I am unsure if the law is still active as of today.

Will my wife's UAE visa renewal be affected after divorce if her husband hasn't canceled it yet?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
My friend and her husband recently went through a divorce in Dubai Courts. However, her husband didn’t cancel her visa and proceeded with the renewal, agreeing to her pleas to stay longer in the UAE.
He assured her he would only cancel her visa once she secures a new sponsor or job. She has completed her Emirates ID and medical test typing as of now.
Is there a chance the visa renewal will be revoked or rejected, or will it proceed automatically since no divorce papers have been issued or applied after the court judgment?
Thank you!

The UAE attracts a large population of expatriates from around the world for business or leisure. It occurs sometimes that those expatriates violate the rules of their visas and incur overstay fines which accumulate the longer they stay beyond their visa's expiry date. This may result in travel restrictions, banning violators from entering the UAE for a certain period or lifetime. The UAE authorities have now announced a two-month scheme for violators to rectify their situations.

Is a bounced rent cheque case considered a criminal record for U.S. visa applications? 0
Hello,
My rent cheque was bounced, and my landlord filed a case against me in Sharjah Court. I received a fine of 2,000 AED, which was later reduced to 1,000 AED upon appeal.
Does this case count as a criminal conviction under UAE law, or was it handled as a civil matter?
If I apply for a U.S. visa, will I need to submit court records under the requirement for applicants with past convictions?
