Q: I had signed up with an immigration consultant for immigration to Canada. According to the contract I would be refunded the full amount if my application did not get through in a year. I had asked for a refund and they have only approved 2560/- out of around Dhs 9500/-. I need help to resolve this issue. Thanks.

Q: Hi, I have a dispute with one immigration consultancy firm in Dubai. I have signed an agreement with them for seeking their services two years ago. However, later I came to know that they have not provided complete information for qualification on the first instance due to which my case does not qualify at all for Canadian immigration. Now, I am asking for cancellation of the agreement, which they refuse claiming it was my mistake. Kindly advise regarding the right forum and the way to proceed legally with my case. Q: My husband & I applied to migration services hoping to have a chance to work in Canada. After months of waiting, we decided to withdraw our application & refund the money as per the contract. We need to wait for 24 weeks before we can claim. 1-Jun-22 is our schedule but till now 18-May-23, we didn’t receive it. They always send emails to reschedule the refund. Since we are going on vacation, we consider collecting whatever recovery they have which is 2500 each but then they send an email saying that we have only 2000. I replied & corrected them but instead, they sent an email saying we have only 1500. We were really losing hope as they keep on changing their statement. So when we meet in their office we record whatever promises the staff has given us but when they found out that we are recording they said all our entitlement for refunds is forfeited because of this action. A total of 8000 dirhams for both of us is due for a refund. Our only purpose in the recording is to have evidence of their promises. Thank you

They said I would get a work permit within 60 days, but it has been more than 6 months. I now need my deposited amount back, but they are saying to mail customer care. س: مرحبا، أنا ر. من لندن. أكتب لطلب المساعدة القانونية بشأن الاحتيال في الهجرة. لقد وقعت عقدًا مع شركة تسمى [-----]، ومقرها دبي تحت إشراف دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية. لقد ادعوا أنهم يستطيعون الحصول لي على وظيفة برعاية في غضون 6 أشهر وإذا لم يحدث ذلك، فسأكون مستحقًا لاسترداد الأموال بالكامل. ولكنهم ضللوني في مناسبات متعددة. لقد أرسلوا لي أولاً فرص العمل الأولية في مالطا وعندما أشرت إليهم، اعتذروا وأرسلوا لي طلبات عمل في لندن. عندما انتهت فترة الستة أشهر، طلبت استرداد الأموال وزعموا أنها لم تمر بعد ستة أشهر حيث لم يتم تضمين عطلات نهاية الأسبوع وفترة العطلات (عطلات العيد، إلخ) في فترة الستة أشهر. ثم أرسلوا لي بريدًا إلكترونيًا منفصلاً يشرح ذلك على الرغم من أنه لم يتم ذكره في أي مكان في العقد. لقد مر أكثر من 8 أشهر وما زالوا يرفضون رد الأموال. الرجاء مساعدتي بخصوص هذا الأمر. أريد استعادة أموالي.

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I applied for Canada immigration in August 2020 and paid 4,000 AED for the process, with a guaranteed 100% refund if they couldn't get me immigration. To date, nothing has happened. When I asked for a refund, they said they could only give me 1,500 AED. I lost money, time, and opportunities in other areas due to this immigration process.
