Attorney didn't include evidence, wants full payment for appeal. What are my rights?
Hello,
I need legal advice regarding a divorce attorney.
I gave all the evidence for the physical abuse and infidelity. The lawyer didn’t include any evidence in the memo even though we agreed that she will. I did get divorced but didn’t get children alimony.
I have the right to two appeals. My lawyer is asking to do the full payment for their service before the appeal or she is not going to do the appeal.
What are my rights in this case? I thought the full payment should be done after all the appeals.
Please advise!
Dear Questioner,
1) Review the terms of the agreement.
2) The lawyer attacks and defends the case according to what he deems right.
3) If the lawyer commits a serious mistake that causes harm to his client, then the client has the right to seek compensation.
4) In general, someone who does not know the Arabic language and does not know the law may be manipulated by his lawyer, and he may mistakenly believe that his lawyer is manipulating him; both are permissible.
