My company is asking us to work 9 hours this Ramadan. What can we do?
My company is asking us to do 9 hrs. duty this Ramadan starting last 8th of April 2023 without overtime pay.
And no one from my colleagues wants to complain as they are scared of what might happen.
Just today, my showroom manager is asking me to extend until 12 pm when I started my duty from 10 am and I am fasting.
What can I do?

The UAE labor law specified working hours per day in the private sector to eight working hours per day, not exceeding 48 hours per week, and normal working hours are reduced by two hours during the month of Ramadan.
If this is exceeded without pay, a complaint can be filed.

The maximum working hours for an employee working in the UAE during Ramadan are six hours per day.
This is irrespective of the fact that the employee is a Muslim or not, fasting or not. It applies to ALL employees.
If your employer is not abiding by this rule then you can and should submit a formal complaint with MOHRE against your employer (or the relevant free zone authority depending on where the employing company is based).
Employers can be fined from AED 5,000 to AED 1,000,000 for breaching the UAE Labor Law.
It is advised that you prove that you are working overtime during Ramadan, such as emails or text messages sent to you by your employer stating to work overtime.
You may also get another employee to submit a complaint.
