I asked my previous company to hold my visa and insurance cancellation because I need the insurance for my tests, procedures, and treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. But I have a bank loan and the bank called me and my previous company pressuring us to release the gratuity to the bank because I have 4 months overdue installments. The bank is threatening the company that it will cause an issue because there is no salary reflected in my account; they are forcing them to cancel my visa and release the gratuity. The bank is forcing me to send an email to my company to release my gratuity. If I do this, I will have no visa and insurance, my chemo sessions will be stopped, and my health will be at risk. The UAE government introduced the new Unemployment Insurance Law under the Federal Decree-Law No. 13 of 2022 Concerning the Unemployment Insurance Scheme for Unemployed People. The law aims at providing a sort of financial support in case of unemployment for a brief period, probably to help employees who got terminated find another job and avoid failing in other financial obligations.

The provisions of this law, promulgating UAE Civil Code, govern the civil transactions in the United Arab Emirates. The commercial transactions remain subject to the laws and regulations applicable in their regard.
