Is a bank employee allowed to refer clients to law firms for commission?
Sir/Madam
I am a banker and I frequently have enquiries from many of my clients for doubts on bounced security cheques and how to find out if any case has been filed on them.
My question regarding this is can I refer them to any lawyer or law firm on a commission basis as the lawyers and law firms will be of help to them?
Is that permissible to refer to such?

Dear Questioner,
Depends on your employment terms and the agreements that you have signed with the Bank. You can send us all agreements that you have and we can review them.
We can help also your clients by checking, on their behalf, their criminal records in the Dubai Police, Dubai Public Prosecution and the Dubai Court.
We can do this, based on a POA- that the client should give us. If the person is inside the UAE he needs to go to the Notary Public to notarize it.
If they are outside the UAE, they should notarize (wherever are located) and attest it in the UAE Embassy. Once we will receive the POA, we will follow the attestation process in the UAE and start our work.
We can provide, to each client, based on their situation, the draft of the POA which they just need to notarize and attest it.

Thank you.
