Q: Hi, I have approached a lawyer because they promised to solve my case in a weeks time. I went and paid the fees on 9th of July and got 3 copies attested from Dubai courts and submitted all.
I have been hearing from them that they will do it today, tomorrow and it's been nearly a month and case manager is just telling "today, tomorrow". I have lost trust and hopes.
I approached them for a solution and they promised it within a week, not in 3 weeks, and they have not even sent the legal notice.
Please advise what should I do?

س: أحمل أنا وزوجي جنسية دولة جنوب أفريقيا، ومتزوجان منذ 6 سنوات. نعيش في دبي، ولدى زوجي جواز سفر كندي.
كنا متزوجين ولدينا اتفاقية / عقد ما قبل الزواج ، ولكن هذه الاتفاقية غير مسجلة، لذا فنحن متزوجان في ملكية مشتركة بيننا. لا يوجد شيء بيننا، لا مال/أولاد/ أو ممتلكات.
استلم زوجي أموال من ميراث له منذ سنتين. لقد دعمت زواجنا ماليًا، حيث أن زوجي كان يعمل في وظيفة بالعمولة فقط.
رفض البحث عن عمل له مرتب شهري ثابت. لقد ساهم أيضًا ماليًا ولكني تحملت الجزء الأكبر من النفقات. لقد أنفقت مدخراتي الشخصية التي جمعتها قبل زواجنا في سبيل دعم حياتنا.
وعدني أنه عندما يستلم ميراثه سيرد إلي مدخراتي، ويشتري لنا منزلًا، والعديد من الأشياء الأخرى. استلم هذا الميراث منذ سنتين ولم يعطيني أي شيء.
هو مدمن كحول، وقد اعترف لي أنه قد خانني عن طريق اتصاله بخط اتصالات للجنس، وقد تم اعتقاله مرتين بسبب شرب الكحول. لقد كنا نذهب للحصول على استشارات زوجية في الماضي. انتقلت للعيش بدونه في 5/11/2016.

ماذا أفعل إذا تلقيت مكالمة من الشرطة؟
س: تلقيت مكالمة من قسم شرطة صالة 1 بمطار دبي، وطلبوا مني القدوم إلى القسم دون إخباري بالسبب. أنا مدين بقيمة قرض للبنك لكنني لا أعرف إذا كان هناك دعوى مرفوعة ضدي بهذا الشأن.
ما هي حقوقي في هذه الحالة؟ هل يجب أن يكون استدعاء الشرطة مكتوبًا؟ هل يمكنني تجاهل تلك المكالمة؟ وما هي تبعات ذلك؟

I have export perishables to Al Aweer market, and this particular gentleman paid for the first few orders but for the last few he didn't pay. He said tomorrow and it has never come.
I have all the documents and I filed a complaint with Dubai police, and I have the complaint numbers as well. Now, my finances are very bad. If you could recover my money from this man, it will be a great help for my family.
I trust Dubai people and this is what happened to me. If you could get your professional fee and get me the balance, then we can reach an agreement.

How can I check the immigration status of my friend who absconded from Dubai?
Hi there,
My friend absconded from Dubai in 2008/2009 leaving behind a small amount of credit card debt in Dubai and also left her employment without resigning properly.
If my friend was to fly to Doha, Qatar would this cause a problem? My friend has never been chased by the UAE bank and has never heard from.
Is it possible to check my friend's immigration status?

Refund of a deposit paid by the underage buyer of real estate property
I put a deposit down on two "off-plan" properties. I paid a deposit on both and received a reservation document signed and stamped by the developer.
However, at the time of the deposit, I was under the age of 21 which is the minimum age to purchase property in Dubai. Lastly once the deposit was made I never received an SPA or NOC. Have now been sent a notice by Dubai Land Department on the request of the developers for Property Termination procedure. The request was canceled.
I am now trying to figure out how to get my deposit back as I believe since I was underage and no formal contract was presented or signed, the agreement is void.
