Visas for Dubai property owners
We are planning to buy a property in Dubai, shall we expect to get a residence visa? What will be the terms and conditions? How many relatives can I sponsor on this type of visa?

There are two types of visa that you may obtain after buying property in Dubai: a six-month multi-entry visa or a two-year residency visa. However, you need to keep in mind that property must be worth in excess of AED 1 Million and must be registered for one owner only.
Owner of a six-month multi-entry visa can sponsor family members at a cost of AED 250 a time and these must also be renewed every six months. Same goes for a two-year residency visa, but it comes with stricter regulations; you must own property that is fully habitable with a value of at least AED 1 Million without a mortgage.
A residence visa allows a person to enter the UAE only once within two months of its date of issue. Therefore, if after getting a residence visa the applicant does not use it within two months, he will have to extend it (AED 100) for an additional 30 days after which he will have to apply for a new one. The period of permissible stay in the country is sixty days from the date of entry into the UAE. Therefore, applications for a residence permit should be submitted before the expiry of this time.
Please keep in mind that for your family member's residence visa to remain valid, he/she must not be out of the UAE for more than 6 months. In case a Muslim expatriate has married more than one wife, he can only obtain one residency visa.
