Trademark filing in the UAE

Hire an experienced attorney to apply for registration of your trademark in the UAE. Save your time and be sure your trademark is protected on the territory of United Arab Emirates.
For a fixed price, inclusive of all government fees and other disbursements, the lawyer you hire will professionally draft the trademark application, file it with the government authorities and follow-up the matter up to registration. There's no need for your presence in the UAE during the application process; your lawyer will do all the needed on your behalf.
This service is right for you if you want start-to-finish professional assistance in protecting your trademark and getting it registered in the UAE.
What’s included
- Drafting and filing a trademark application in a single class in the UAE.
- Government filing fees, other official fees and disbursements.
- Reporting communication received from the Trademark Office.
- Publication of the application in the UAE Trademarks Journal and two Arabic daily newspapers, if the mark is accepted for publication by the Trademarks Office.
- Obtaining and delivering the registration certificate, if no opposition is filed against the trademark.
- Privacy. The information and documents you share with your lawyer are protected by attorney-client privilege.
What’s not included
- Jurisdictions other than the UAE. If required, separate applications could be filed in the countries of client’s interest at an additional cost.
- Additional classes. If required, separate applications could be filed in the required classes at an additional cost.
- Contesting objections and oppositions. Depending upon the nature of objection/opposition, a separate quote can be provided to handle the matter.
- Translation and/or attestation of required documents, long distance telephone calls and faxes, couriers and postage to/from outside the UAE, collections and deliveries.
- Guarantee of trademark registration. The outcome of filling a trademark application depends on your situation and cannot be guaranteed. Grant of registration shall depend upon various factors including prior filing or registration of conflicting marks; prior use or adoption of the same or a similar mark by a third party; descriptiveness of the mark; meeting the morality code and the mark being compliant with the stipulations of Trademarks Law. We recommend conducting pre-filing trademark clearance service to increase the chances of registration.
For most people, this service covers their entire trademark registration process in the UAE. But if your case requires additional work – for example, you decide to protect your trademark across more classes or jurisdictions – you can talk to the attorney about hiring them for extra work.
