Q: Hi, My rent renewal is due at the end of May. My landlord wants to increase my rent by 35% while the RERA Index is stating a 0% increase because I am within the average rental rate. The land-lord`s management keeps responding back to me with the "valuation" report for an apartment that is vacant, not the apartment I am living in. How to evict the tenant after winning the case in RDC?
Q: I have served my tenant a legal notice and won the cases in the first instance and appeal in Dubai`s RDC court. I requested enforcement and the tenant has requested reconsideration just 3 days before the eviction date. The judge accepted to give the tenant an additional one more month to vacate, exactly on the eviction day. I am afraid that this is not the end of the process as the tenant is paying very low rent and wants to stay in the property as long as possible by making the process as long as possible. Can I leave the UAE after applying for residency and return later?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am applying to transfer my US immigration case to the UAE and I am working on getting an UAE work permit. I understand that applying for residency comes with it. My question is, when I enter the UAE on a work permit, how long do I have to live in the UAE? Do I have to stay until I receive the printed residency card? Or do I have to stay until I get my interview letter and/or until I do the interview? Could I leave after the residency card has been applied for (but not received) and come back for the interview? My husband has an outstanding loan and credit card from a bank. How to settle them?
Q: Hi My husband has a loan and credit card from a bank, which he was always paying on time. I left my job and we got financial commitments, due to which we couldn`t make the payment in the past 2 -3 months. We contacted the remediation department but they were not ready to help us. His outstanding loan is 72000 and his credit card is 22,500 overdue. He has noticed the account is showing -200,000 all of a sudden. What can that be? Q: I obtained a loan and also used credit cards from three different banks before leaving Dubai, UAE. The total amount is AED 200,000/-. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to make timely repayments and find myself in a challenging financial situation. However, I am now determined to fulfil my financial obligations and settle the outstanding loan amount. As I am still actively seeking employment, I am unable to pay the full amount in one lump sum. I have approached the bank with a proposal to repay the loan in manageable instalments. While they have offered a discount, they insist on the full payment rather than accepting my proposed repayment plan. I kindly request your guidance on the best course of action in this situation.
