What to do if your new employer does not provide you a visa

Q: Hello, I have been working for a company for more than 3 years, then I got selected for a new job. The new company requested me to resign and requested for the cancellation asap. They have given me the offer letter at the start which is signed by both. I manage to resign without serving my notice period so I didn`t get my gratuity and I have given them all the documents and the cancellation required for the process of my new visa. Today it`s more than one month and no visa processed yet. I have consumed all the legal days of staying in the UAE. And yesterday I called them and simply they said that they don`t have money to process my visa. Is there anything I can do about this? I was having a happy life here. Now I lost my job and I have no more time to stay, I start to have penalties for my staying in Dubai.

How can I check and lift my UAE immigration ban?

Q: How can I check my type of ban? I am a businessman. I used to travel to Dubai for business purposes. And I had residence visa for a long time. But in 2014, when I travelled to Dubai, I was taken to Al Aweer Central Jail from immigration of Dubai International Airport. And they took my fingerprints and eye scan. They told me to call my Arbab. But unfortunately, my Arbab was out of UAE. And then they sent me back to my country without saying anything. Now I want to know if I was banned or not. If I`m banned, how can I check for how long I was banned? And how can I remove my ban?

Getting NOC when the old sponsor is not responding to calls and emails

Q: Dear, My previous employer applied for my HAAD license linked with his sponsoring facility. After issuing the license the employer never responded to my calls or emails. I did not get a visa or entry permit and I did not join work. Now, I got a new job and the new employer asked for a NOC from the old employer to transfer the license. But again, the old employer is not responding to my emails or calls. What should I do next? Can I transfer the license to another sponsor without the NOC? If the NOC is a must even though I did not work or enter the UAE, what is the procedure? Thanks for any help.

Bank claim of the credit card annual charges after leaving the UAE

Q: I left the UAE in October 2015 and forgot to cancel my credit card. In April 2016, using my login I wrote to the bank to close the card since I had no outstanding amounts at the time of leaving the UAE or requesting the closure, . ADIB didn`t cancel the card and levied the annual charge in November 2016. In Sep 2017 I received an email from trust DC stating that they are the legal advisor of ADIB and I owe ADIB AED 1003. At the time of renewal, I didn`t have a valid visa and Emirates ID. Now, ADIB is putting the onus on me and asking me to pay. They are not responding to emails and I cant call them as I am in India. Please advise regarding the forward path.

Insurance policy cancellation for defaulting on contributions

Q: I took insurance policies with a reputable company. There is initial contribution period of 2 years, wherein you cannot withdraw or touch your own money. Both policies started around April 2014 and I paid diligently until October 2015. The monthly contribution is around AED 2100 per month. I stopped the other plan briefly then continued to pay until around April 2016. Because of more financial difficulties, I was not able to pay my monthly contribution starting April 2016. My financial adviser said that my money is still there until maturity. When I checked again, my policy is gone along with my contribution. The call centre agent said it went to the charges. I have another plan, which is also untouchable at the moment. The financial adviser did not tell me anything about it. I want to complain about the insurance company, as well as the broker where my financial adviser works. Is there any legal way to recover that money? I hope you can help me.

Deductions from the security deposit upon termination of Lease Agreement

Q: Hi, Rocky Real Estate is deducting painting and cleaning charges by mentioning the clause number 6 of the agreement signed between me and them. Clause number 6 says if the tenant vacates the flat before 3 years than the tenant has to pay painting and cleaning charges. Howsoever landlord has not given the 2nd-year contract to Rocky and they itself has not managed the building for 3 years, so is clause number 6 void or not? They still hold the property till 19th Sep 2017 and I have not handed till now to them. Please suggest appropriate action. I cant let them play with my hard earned money.

Do I get a travel ban in the UAE for a bank loan in Saudi Arabia?

Q: Good day! I`m a resident of the UAE now. I had an unpaid bank loan in Saudi Arabia way back in 2014. Now, Bilkish agency, a debt collection agency, keeps on calling me to pay my debt in just a few days. I can`t afford to pay immediately because I`m not earning too much. An agent said she will make sure the bank will block me here in the UAE. Does the collection agency have the right to block me in immigration or put me into travel ban here in the UAE? Liability of Finance Manager for bank loans of the company

Q: My ex-colleague was an employee in a Sharjah Hamriya Free Zone entity owned by an Indian expatriate. During his tenure as Finance Manager, he was a co-signatory to bank cheques. He has not signed any guarantee cheques or loan agreements with banks except as a witness to the document signed between the bank and the owner. He has resigned in Dec 2015 and since then the owner of the business has run away from the UAE. Now my colleague is under threat from the banks which have provided banking lines to the entity that he will be sued as he was also responsible as Finance Manager of the entity. Want to know can the banks include my colleague as a party to the case? If yes, what would be my colleague`s liability? Can the bank file a criminal case & enforce a travel ban on my colleague?
