Q: Hi sir, I am a Muslim guy working in a company in the UAE as a customer service representative. They deployed me to airport terminal 1. We are doing customer service there today. One of our managers just come very close to my face and took a picture while I was working in the arrival area of terminal 1, then he spoke to me very rudely and told me that he will give me a warning letter because I have a beard. My beard is just a small beard; it`s a trimmed beard as Muslim without any design on the beard. I feel so bad about this. I don`t know what I can do about this.

Q: How will I know if I have a "travel ban" and "court case" against me in Abu Dhabi, UAE? My next destination of work is Abu Dhabi city. I just received a job offer now in Abu Dhabi, but I had an "unpaid personal loan and credit card" in Qatar due to recession/job loss due to termination due to the completion of the project I still have an outstanding balance. I am afraid if my employment papers will be blocked and I can not be employed by my agency to Abu Dhabi to work. Do I have to tell my employer about this issue? Checking the whereabout of a person arrested in the UAE

Q: Good morning, I am writing from Europe. My fiancé is a Nigerian citizen. He lives and works in Ajman since 3 years. He is in trouble since last Monday. He works in night shift. He was asleep in his room when police went there and checked everybody. My fiancé doesn`t have a valid ID card. The police arrested him at a police raid. He has a valid passport with a valid UAE visa. Since he was arrested, I know nothing about him. I would like to know if an invalid ID card can be a reason for arresting someone over there. If yes, how long will he stay in prison? How can I get any information about him?

Working in the Middle East if you have a travel ban in the UAE

Q: Can the bank impose a travel ban which will cover the whole Middle East, which means I won`t be able to come to work in any Middle East country including the UAE as well?

Effect of a criminal case on the proceedings of a civil case

Q: Can proceedings in the civil case be withheld, if there is an existing criminal case pending which is connected to the civil case or regarding the same case? In accordance with Article 28 of the Federal Law No. 35 of 1992 concerning the Criminal Procedural Law of the UAE as amended by Federal Law No. 29 of 2005 (the `Criminal Procedures Law`): For instance, if there is an existing financial criminal case i.e. cheque bounce case issued by the bank that is pending to be resolved, would that prevent a civil case from being initiated in court?

A friend took the checkbook and falsified the signature of the owner

Q: I have given my checkbook of RAK Bank to one of my friends last year in October. It was purely blank. That guy copied my ID signature very perfectly and put a case on me of 300,000 AED in Dubai in May. now I am on Kafala and case in criminal court. I didn`t sign that and I have not written anything. The forensic expert verified that the writing is not mine but the signature matches. At public Persecution, I brought my witness there who told them that I gave my checkbook in front of her. but they told me that I am lying. In the last hearing on 17 Nov., the judge asked me to submit my defense in Arabic on the 24th of November. Can you advise in this scenario what should I expect?

Law provisions regarding the delay in property handover

Q: If anyone can please assist, I heard about a commercial/construction law that if a developer is late by 1 year from date of handover agreed in the contract, then the purchaser has the right to terminate the contract and be refunded for any payments paid to the developer. Does anyone know what is the clause of this regulation? Many thanks

Q: I have taken a finance loan from a bank and was paying continuously as it was automatically debited from my salary account associated with the bank. Due to my pregnancy, I have unpaid leaves and now it`s 4 months pending. For 6 months, my salary wasn`t credited but every 2.5 months I paid 1 instalment in these 6 months. Last month, I resumed work and from last month salary started paying again into DIB account and they have taken 1.5-months instalment.
