How can I get money invested in a company after I got cheated by my partner?
Q: Hello. I invested almost 60,000 dhs in a company to be a business partner in the future and get power of attorney. But my business partner lied to me, he took all the money and now our business is almost closed. I asked him to pay me all the money I gave to him (with papers he signed in) and he is not paying me. It has been like this for almost 2 years now! Do I have any chance of getting my invested money back? Thanks

Q: Dear Questioner, I have bought a villa in which a tenant is living. The last tenancy contract registered with Ejari expired in 2021. The tenant has shown me a new tenancy contract in his mother`s name, which is not registered in Ejari. How can I evict the tenant? Can the payee of a cheque use a photo of a cheque I sent a picture of it on WhatsApp?
Q: Greetings, I shared a photo of a cheque with the payee for verification purposes only, not for deposit. Our WhatsApp communication has been clear on this. I recently found out that it may be possible to encash a cheque using a photo or printout instead of the original cheque… Now, I worry the person may actually deposit the cheque using the photo I shared. Is this possible or plausible, would this be a fraud? Should I preemptively block the cheque? The jurisdiction is Dubai. I still have the physical cheque in my possession. Can the company claim compensation from me if they terminate me during probation?
Q: Hello sir I am a 51-year-old expatriate. I have joined a company in Dubai under a limited contract and it’s been 4 months since my contract was signed. As it seems the company is not satisfied with my performance, they have told me verbally that they don’t need my services anymore. So I would like to check whether I may have to pay any compensation to the company for the visa expenses. Can I get my money back from the seller after a mistake by them and the MoU will expire?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I`m a buyer and came to the final stages of the process, all cheques have been issued and shared. I was pushing developers about NOC (the seller takes things very slowly), and they realized a big mistake in the documents, the Dubai Land Department gave us a Title Deed instead of a Pre-Title Deed. The bank prepared all cheques through that. Our MoU expires in a couple of days. We offer the seller to extend the MOU to provide documents. So whose fault is it? Can the landlord send me an eviction notice for the reason of renovation?
Q: My eviction notice and tenancy contract will come to an end on 5 May 2024. The reason for eviction is "renovation". The landlord has not submitted any supporting documents to show that the property will be unlivable during the renovation or any approval from Dubai Municipality.
