The right to travel without the consent of parents
Hi.
I’m a British citizen and I’ve been in the UAE for a number of months under the sponsorship of my father.
Now I want to leave due to family issues and I’m faced with the problem that my father has confiscated my passport.
I’m in the process of replacing it and once I get it I’ll be moving back to the UK, but will I face any problems with the immigration?

Dear Questioner,
The answer to your question depends on your age.
According to the UAE Law, the person can conduct directly all legal actions by himself whether those actions are useful purely or harmful purely or revolving between the useful and harmful or other rights, without the need for the natural person to have a guardian regarding conducting those actions or exercising those rights, provided that the natural person reaches the legal age of consent and he is having all his entire mental capacity and is not forbidden for any reason.
The legal age of consent set out by above-referred articles is twenty-one years old of lunar calendar which is equivalent to about twenty years, four months and twenty days of solar calendar given that the lunar year is shorter than the solar year.
