Q: Hi there, I worked as a teacher in Dubai last year. I was in a two-year contract and completed one year but became sick over the summer and could not return. I wrote a letter of resignation and attached a note from my doctor explaining why I would not be able to return. I told my school to use my summer pay to cover any costs incurred. The school replied and said that my resignation was approved and they did not pay me for the summer, so I assume they used my money to cancel the visa but have no evidence of this. Q: I would like to ask whether it is safe for me to visit the UAE again or not. I visited Dubai with 90 days visa last time. When I hung out with my friends, policemen came to us to check our IDs. I showed my passport because I was just a visitor and my local friends showed them their Emirates IDs. Some of my friends who have an Emirates ID received a fine notice of violation of Covid-19 regulations by SMS the next day from the Dubai police which I didn't. This happened about 1.5 months before my departure. I called Dubai police after the incident and the officer told me that it should have been ok if I hadn't received a fine paper ticket that day without checking my passport number. When I went to Dubai airport, no one stopped me at customs and I left the country. I am worried if there is a possibility I might get arrested on arrival when I visit the UAE next time. Your legal advice is much appreciated.

Q: Hello Sir I was a taxi driver in 2019. Unfortunately, I was arrested by Sharjah police. They take me to Sharjah out of jail because my ID has expired. I have also put a case on my company.
