Non-Disclosure and confidentiality clauses in employment contracts
Ma'am,
My company made me sign a non-disclosure agreement. If I resign from that job, can any case be filed against me?

Dear Questioner,
Please read the relevant articles of law to attain a good understanding of the situation:-
Article (127) of the Labour Law states that:
"Where the work assigned to a worker allows him to become acquainted with the employer's clients or to have access to his business secrets, the employer may require him to undertake not to compete with him or participate in any enterprise competing with his own, after the termination of his contract.
The above Article shall be read with Article 909 an 910 of UAE Civil Code which clearly lays down up to what extent the same can be implemented.
If the employee has access to confidential information, the employer can ask the employee to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure.
But the employer can seek compensation before the court only if he can prove the material loss he faced because of this.
Hope the above explanation made your situation lighter.
Thank you.
