Criminal case by the bank for defaulting on EMI's of a loan
I have a case filed against me by the bank last month end for failing to pay 2 EMIs.
I have been unemployed since April 2017 and have managed to pay my EMIs from the settlement I received from my previous company and some other EMIs by borrowing money from friends and families.
I haven't been able to find suitable employment during this time and I have AED 52000 to pay the bank (the original amount being AED 254,000).
Please advise.

Dear Questioner,
Thank you so much for keeping in touch with me.
Even though you have to pay only 52,000/- the bank might have filed the case for the full loan amount as the cheque available with them is for the full amount.
As the case is already registered, once you get a call from the police you can appear before the police or prosecutor whenever you're called for, either personally or through a lawyer.
If the cheque amount is more than 200k, the chance of getting a sentence in the first court is more likely. But still, you can produce all your payment details and try to have a fine in that.
After the criminal case or during the pendency of this, the bank has the option to move a civil case also against you.
