How to remove the travel ban after settling a credit card case with the bank?

Hello Everyone,

I’m new to this community and seeking support. In 2020, I had a 10K credit card from a bank. Due to COVID-19, I was unable to make the payment on time, resulting in the bank filing a criminal case against me in Nov 2020.

I have recently managed to arrange the funds and settle the amount. I have received clearance and case release letters from the bank, confirming that the case has been released by Dubai police.

However, despite this, I still find the case active on the Dubai police app.

As I am no longer in the country and plan to travel soon, I am concerned about any potential issues with obtaining a visa. I have attempted to contact Dubai police multiple times via email, but have not received a response.

Please advise on any potential visa issues and any alternative steps I can take to resolve this matter.

Thank you.

Dear Inquirer

We are pleased to serve you and address your inquiries.

You must submit a certificate to stop the search and submit it to the police station at the location of the incident until the case is closed permanently

If anything else is required, don’t hesitate to contact us via email or call our offices in Dubai or Sharjah.

Dear questioner

In your case, the obtaining clearance letter will not clear the case instead it shall be uploaded to withdraw the case from the system or records after uploading the same the case will be cleared.

If you want us to assist in your matter, please share your Whatsapp number.

Thank you,

The bank has shared the case release letter which was submitted to Al Qusais Police Station.

Please understand that I have just settled my account and I don't have money to pay for legal services. I just need a little guidance.

Either you need to go directly to the police station with the clearance papers or you should appoint an authorized person for the same.

If you already got a clearance from the bank and received a confirmation from them that the case has been released by the police, then there won't be any problem.

If you want to make it sure we will conduct a travel ban check for you.

Kindly share your WhatsApp number to proceed.

Hi,

According to UAE law, a criminal case can only be closed by a court order.

Even if you have settled the amount with the bank and received clearance and case release letters, the case will still appear as active on the Dubai police app until a court order is issued to close it.

To resolve this matter, you can contact the bank and request them to file a request with the court to close the case.

Once the court order is issued, the case will be closed and will no longer appear on the Dubai police app.

In terms of potential visa issues, it is unlikely that you will face any problems as long as the case has been settled and closed.

However, it is always advisable to check with the relevant authorities before traveling to ensure that there are no issues with your visa
