What do we do if we received a legal notice from a client for delay in delivering services?

We are a software development company in Dubai. Today we got a legal notice from a client for not delivering his project at the time mentioned in the project agreement.
Although we have followed everything as per the agreement and he made payment after finding everything worked fine in the Demo presentation meeting.
What should be our approach to this issue?

We can reply to his legal notice mentioning that you did the work as per the agreement and refer to your proof, and if he ignores our reply and takes legal action, we can represent you before the court and submit all your supporting proof.
