Foreigner dies without a will - how do judges know home country's laws?

Dear Sir/Madam,

If a foreigner has not drafted a will before death in the UAE, the law of the state of nationality will apply to the inheritance of the deceased's estate.

How do judges become aware of the laws of other countries?

Dear Questioner,

It is the parties to the case who submit the laws of their states, certified and approved, and the judge implements them on their case.

Dear Questioner,

There are certain things while deciding the disposal of a person's estate in the absence of a will.

The judge will consider both laws of the states involved and will apply according to the discretion. The legal heirs can submit a request to apply the law of their home country.

If you need further clarification, we will arrange a legal consultation session for a charge.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

In the UAE, when a foreigner passes away without a will, their nationality's laws govern the inheritance.

Judges determine foreign laws through legal expertise, consultation with embassies or consulates, legal experts, and official documentation like passports.

This ensures that the applicable foreign laws are considered in inheritance cases, but the process can be complex, and individuals should consult with us to navigate it effectively.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

We will be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards,
