Reduction of the labour ban period to enter the UAE
My husband had a one-year labour ban. The kids and I are in Dubai. We brought him on a visit visa last time.
Now, I applied again for a visit visa and it got rejected. Still, his ban period exists. Can I know the reason for visit visa rejection?
Thanks
Sonia

There is an automatic labour ban of ONE YEAR when you terminate an unlimited labour contract before completing one year of service, or if the contract is a limited contract before the date of its expiry. Non-renewal of the contract will also result in a labour ban.
To avoid being banned, you should ensure that your current employer has taken appropriate action to:
a) Extend your employment contract with the Department of Labour, prior to the expiry of your labour contract.
b) If you are undergoing a job change, ensure that your sponsorship has been transferred to the new employer; else,
c) Ensuring that your Labour Card will be cancelled.
Labour ban can be avoided by taking the necessary steps such as renewal of the contract or a new contract with a new employer, followed by the cancellation of the labour card or not to abscond from work.
But once a labour ban is in place, the period of the ban cannot be reduced.
